crime is very harsh -
7/15/2007I love Sperling's reviews,but the crime in Lexington,KY can be extremely violent and harsh.Lots of rape and murders,bad race and drug problems.Noise pollution is really loud!Traffic is a nightmare.The main mall(Fayette mall)is basically for upper income(no pet store,arcade,or dollar store).The medical care is excellent,if you have the money/right insurance.The bus system is good.No mountains or lakes.No real bike/pedestrian paths.Rent is expensive.State is more interested in sports than anything else.State is a union buster.Jobs only come here if they no that there won't be any unions.Pay is low.

3/15/2007The crime is bad for a place this size.If ya don't nail it down,it will be stolen.Vehicles and houses get broken into every day and night.This small city has an absolutely horrible drug problem.A lot of alcohol problems as well.Hey,it isn't every day you see a drive-thru liquor store!The cops basically look the other way for most of the crap that goes on.

3/15/2007Transportation is a real problem here.Only a parttime taxi.No greyhound,no city bus, no shuttle to Lexington(that's where the mall,jobs, medical,etc are)No bike paths,hardly any sidewalks(the ones that exist are crumbly).Congested roads,horrible drivers.No consideration for the disabled.
