11/23/2013Not conservative enough for me Ivette. And I'm not a country bumpkin, and I'm also educated, and intelligent. I just moved back to Macon from California after 20 years, the Napa Valley area, and I have seen more Hillbillies there, than ever in Georgia.
However, I must agree there is a lot of ignorance here, perhaps it is the poor school system, which keeps going on the gravy train of the tax payers. The one thing I hope people here will do, is to keep opening their hearts, and not their minds. After all, God judges the heart. And Jesus did say, open your heart, not your mind.
And you are right, if you are a liberal don't move here, move to California. You will get your wish, higher taxes, and more intolerance.
Property taxes went up almost 4% my first year here, and the price of homes decreased significantly. Actually, this is a town for liberals, since conservatives believe in low taxes, and a better education system, and teaching children skills, not sex orientation.
I have lived many places, and I traveled to many other countries, with my husband on business trips, for long stays, and I can say, that even South Africa is more sophisticated than Macon, Ga.
To me, it is nothing more than a mini California, as people are leaving in droves, as they are leaving Ca, as well.
