I was only a visitor, but I really wanted to like Asheville. I went there several times thinking that I was going to live there. Some of the people were nice, but most were snotty. The realtors I worked with were lackluster and not helpful. It is truly a beautiful city and the scenery was gorgeous! I wish that I could have lived there just for that. But I chose to go elsewhere.

Wow! Sounds absolutely great! I like your version/vision of Tucson. I love people of ALL varieties. I miss the SW and look forward to moving here and loving life. There is NO place that is perfect! Just the way it is. I have been from one side of the country to the other. Acceptance, friendship, openness...these are the things I am looking for. Thanks so much for you response.

I lived there for three years and rarely worried about crime...though looking back I remember gang shootings on a regular basis, I remember odd/violent crime on a regular basis, someone I knew was beaten up on his own block in the city of Albuquerque for making a comment...I lived in Rio Rancho which had tons of cops, and when I was in the city I always felt safe. So? Albquerque is a great place, but I wouldn't move back because of the schools. They were scary!

How a flaming liberal would do here? I read the comments about the person from New York and I wonder...I am extremely liberal and love all people of all kinds, all colors, all sexual preferences, all things uniquely expressed by people. I am not from the NE but from the NW. We love everybody. I am also an acupuncturist. What do you think? How would I like it there? How would people like me?
