Lynchburg, VA

What Happened to This Nice Little Town? - 6/8/2017
What happened to this city? It used to be such a quaint and friendly place. The environment has changed drastically and radically from a warm and caring populace to a punitive and restrictive populace. The majority of businesses in this town are customer-oriented, yet, no one is able to, or wants to service anyone. There is always a reason why someone can't do something. You're not safe on the roads because people won't follow the rules. Giving a signal before passing or changing lanes does not require a Ph.D., people. The food used to be top-notch, but nowadays, the fast food places are filthy and the food is quite nasty. You can't go to any outdoor events because you're told you can't park (but they want your money), and you can't enjoy outdoor events because every last person in this town smokes, which causes migraines and secondary lung disease. You can't go to the movies because like every store in Lynchburg, there is only one cashier. If you want to see a movie, if would be advantageous to bring a sleeping bag and get in line approximately two weeks ahead of time, because the automated ticket machine has been broken for three years. And if you're over 50, you're asked for an ID, which is totally preposterous. I see that the new trend has also made its way down to Lynchburg, in that people think it is politically incorrect to shower, so I am constantly gagging and vomiting from the bad body odors of others, or, that new smell that infiltrates the culture today. What is that smell? The nicer places to go are inundated with traffic snafus, and people who just refuse to obey the traffic laws. The public transportation system is a total nightmare, as it takes 1-2 hours to get to a destination in an exceptionally small city. The bus drivers are rude and are never on time, and the buses stinks so bad, I exited one day and vomited. People complain about larger cities such as New York, but I honestly think this is the absolute worst place on the face of the earth. People saunter through the streets, wandering aimlessly through life with neither goals or objectives. We can't freely walk the streets like we used to from the 1960s-1980s because of the insurmountable amount of crime. If we can't afford to move out of the city itself, we are forced to be pestered by people who park their cars at residences, turn on that horribly violent rap music and blast it while they are visiting, or, you can't take a nap or get the required amount of sleep because people sit on corners and rev up engines for absolutely no reason. Life is reversed because those people who work have to have funds extrapolated from their paychecks to support those who can work but will not work. Real estate agents: be advised: not everyone can live in the same types of environments. Elderly people need to be able to get sleep, and if they are extremely wealthy, they should have the opportunity to move into an area that is less crime-infested. I cannot for the life of me, ascertain why we have to cower to criminals. The entire order of society is askew. We're supposed to tolerate what is intolerable, shun intelligence, forsake bathing, and settle for rotten meat. People: follow the rules when driving. If you follow the rules and cease the opiod drugs, you won't become violent when people are driving the mandated speed limit. We are not going to drive 100 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. I have seen people become angry with elderly drivers and zoom past them on no-passing zones and their bumpers fall off the cars because they can't wait for 1 minute, and when they nearly cause mass casualties on residential streets, they have to stop at the same red light. You cannot blow your horn because of cry babies who whine and are ready to commit a felony because they can't control or regulate their emotions. Something needs to be done about this city. It is a horrible and smelly place, filled to capacity with mean, angry, unfriendly and hostile people. What happened? And stop telling us what you can't do. You can't do because you won't do. We're not living in 1938 Germany.
