Not a bad place to live Posted On: 3/2/2012 4:05:23 PM
We came here from southern California via Cheyenne, WY, and have lived here for five years now. I would say nearly everything-- entertainment and cultural venues, educational institutions, eateries, etc.-- about Aurora is OK, average, bordering on just plain boring, not terribly exciting or outstanding in any way at all, but not bad, either. (Oh, the drivers here are completely retarded and drive according to whatever the inner voices tell them to do). Aurora has been a good stopping off place, but we haven't found any convincing reason to stay here in a place this committed to mediocrity.
re: Cheyenne: More people at Walmart at any one Posted On: 3/2/2012 3:57:04 PM
I would concur with all of these observations.

I would strongly concur with everything in this review.
Uninhabitable flyover territory Posted On: 3/2/2012 3:44:15 PM
If you are white, ignorant, racist, stupid, and hopelessly conservative politically, and you love having the wind blowing hard constantly and having absolutely nothing to do, and you don't mind having no decent restaurants to eat at, no entertainment or cultural venues whatsoever, you don't mind living 150 miles from the nearest major airport and from any professional sports venue, then you will LOVE living in Cheyenne. Contrary to what I was told about a million times while I lived there, this is NOT a good place to raise children, and the cost of living without the state income tax is NOT cheaper than comparable locations in the US. There may be no state income tax (there's a reason for that), but you have to pay a hefty Boredom Tax. Unless you meet these criteria, I would run the other way if you are considering moving to this town.
