All I have to say is...why did ya go to Houston? Who ar you kidding? You went because this area is a draw-back to slavery times! You could not get ahead, could you? I don't care if you are Black...or White...if you don't have "MONEY" in this city...you are out. So going to Houston...to MAKE MONEY...before returning was the only way YOU would get a foot-hold in Charlotte! It has nothing to do with being from the NORTH! It has everything with being lower to middle class in this place. The Blacks you say you see on the news...they know....Like myself....I left Charlotte and lived somewhere else for years, guess what?....I came back to the same racist, bible-thumping...elitist city. You sound like you've become one of the latter, a elitist-type! Good job with assimilating to the Charlote culture!

Take it from a life-long resident....Charlotte NC is NOT one of the best places to be...or live in...if you are a minority. Try any place else....but here! The only reason we have a black mayor and a black chief of police is the city needs to "portray" that it is a place of diversity. How else can the city attract business here. Once large corporations move here....the Whites in the business realize they can get away with being racist and morally corrupt without penalty in Charlotte....so Whites LOVE IT HERE! Besides, how would they snag the DNC Convention money...or the CIAA if they don't appear to be welcoming?
Believe me...after the CIAA left...Charlotte was washing the "BLACK" off of everything downtown. For those of you that spent you hard-earned dollars during the CIAA.....I feel sorry for you. Anyway....as far as great cities for minorities.....try another city....or state!
