Is Birmingham Right For Me? -
6/28/2010I am someone who would like to live in the South, and I am considering Birmingham, but I'm not sure if it's the right place for me.
I prefer warm, humid summers and mild winters (very little snow and only a few days where the temperature would be close to freezing).
I am a current college student who is considering majoring in psychology. How would the job situation be with trying to find a job in this field?
I like to see wildlife, especially alligators, snakes and turtles. I also like to fish.
I am a United Methodist Christian, and I would probably go to church every Sunday if I find a church I really like.
Thank you in advance for any responses to my post.

1/1/2010Omaha really isn't a bad city. It has a lot of chain stores and restaurants that Lincoln doesn't have. The zoo in Omaha is also better than Lincoln's zoo. Omaha also has the Missouri River, while Lincoln doesn't have any rivers. Traffic can be bad and the weather definitely reminds you that you are in the Midwest, but overall Omaha isn't a bad place to be.

Can't wait to leave! -
12/31/2009After living in Lincoln for 20 years, I can't wait to leave. I would not recommend living here unless you are conservative and love football. Traffic is also bad considering the size of Lincoln. If you are from a big East or West coast city, don't bother. The only good things I can about Lincoln is that the cost of living is low and overall crime is low in most areas.

what I think of Lincoln -
11/4/2009pros:
very low crime
low cost of living
cons:
constantly changing weather, with very hot summers and very cold winters
not a good city if you don't vote Republican
Lincoln can get boring, especially downtown, where there seems to be nothing to do but eat or go see a movie
Overall, Lincoln is an okay city. However, if you are think of moving here from a city like Los Angeles, New York, etc. I would recommend not moving to Lincoln.
