Tough Place For Straight SWM -
5/11/2007Denver is overall a quite lovely place to live. (OK - I am a Denver native and may be somewhat biased.) However, be warned, it can be a brutally lonely place for straight males in the 20-30 year age range. You are going to face a lot of competition for the few attractive, quality females in that age range. I lived in Denver from age 24-29 (post grad. school) and literally NEVER met an immediately "available" quality female (age 25-30) during those years. The only way to date the quality ladies you want to meet was to gradually convince them that you had more to offer than their current boyfriend/lover. This works, but you should be prepared to be patient and be able to "market" yourself if you are going to play in this tough environment.

The Danville "Bubble" -
5/11/2007The local kids call it simply "The Bubble". They are referring to the sheltered, protected and somewhat insular quality of life in the Danville, CA area. From an overall quality of life perspective, it is hard to beat in terms of climate, activities, low crime, family/kids-orientation and location relative to a major metro area. The drawbacks are the housing "cost of entry" and overall Bay Area traffic. I've lived in Chicago and Denver, both great cities, but this area is second to none.
