Crime Fears are Overblown -
1/1/2016I have lived in Owings Mills for 22 years. I have experienced NO crime, with the exception of a stolen children's bicycle once. I live in a pleasant neighborhood with single family homes. It is quiet, my area has a lot of trees, and in Owings Mills New Town is a good grocery store, Starbucks, etc. There are also a number of restaurants in Owings Mills, not to mention good chain hotels including Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Inn, with Holiday Inn on its way. What folks are reacting to is the fact that Owings Mills has become majority black...although far from entirely black. That's a deal-breaker for a lot of people. I am white and I have no plans to move anywhere.
