Westerly CDP, RI
Small town, not much here -
4/24/2015I've been living in Westerly my entire life, and it's not the greatest place. The only plus is the beaches are 10 minutes away, but that doesn't do you any good in the winter. The summers here are not bad, we have a lot of trees and all. There are like 3 summer events.
But the rest of the year is HORRIBLE. The town is just dead. And it gets SO cold! No major restaurants besides Applebees, 99, McDonalds, BK, Subway, and Dominos. The employment rate sucks, and it's EXPENSIVE to live here. The older people are nice but everyone else is eh. Not so much rude, just very reserved. It's very hard to make friends here or develop any kind of social life. There's a couple small bars, but they are very poor and filled with druggies.
The town is just too small. We have a movie theatre and a mediocre bowling alley and that's it. Don't expect to have fun here.
