The heat and humidity - 11/10/2007
No matter how much you try, most of the state, at least the southern part South of I-10) never experiences a weather front that "pushes through" and dries the area for more than about 24-48 hrs.(Usually the prior front is pushed North from the Gulf of Mexico, with attendant moisture.) Thus, the humidity usually combines with the heat to make it unpleasant most of the year.
So for all the other good things, this factor is a constant. Be forewarned
