4/11/2021Ghetto place unless you are rich enough to live in the mountains. Homeless beggars on every corner. Crime is high.
Pretentious people wearing masks outdoors skoff if you aren't muzzled up too. Nevermind a medical exemption from my doctor.
Some kind people mixed up in this town, but overall the vibe is yucky and I'm headed out after just a few months.

Too small -
1/21/2016With less than 200 people, its hard to create a life here. It's a gorgeous place and people are friendly, yet I could not seem to meet any reliable people. Crestone seems to be mostly flaky pot smoking hippy types. People do not honor their agreements or follow through on what they say. For such a small community this is critical. So for single people I suggest either bringing your own support system or finding a bigger city to live in.
The economy is nearly non existent and its easy to get bored if you do not have a car. Oh, there is absolutely no public transit.
And finding a good rental is tough.
Overall it's a great place to visit but not a good place to live.
