re: where??? - 4/12/2009 -
7/6/2012Colorado is gorgeous and although it does have some cold in the winter, it is usually very mild and the snow melts between storms. Winters and summers are both very sunny and with the ultra low humidity the hot months feel cooler and the cold months feel warmer. Where we live on the "Front Range", it is not cheap, but it is not hyper-expensive either. We moved here from beautiful (but hyper-expensive) Southern California 18 months ago, so for us, it seems very affordable. There are a lot of former Californians here, as well as former Texans, so if it is not too cold for us, then perhaps it might be worth considering for yourself. Good luck to you!

Irvine is Wonderful -
4/12/2010Irvine is a fantastic place to raise children. Children can safely play outside or ride their bikes on the many greenbelts. The city is packed with parks and bike trails. The schools are very good and there is no shortage of fun things to do in the community. The weather is gorgeous with mild summer and winter temperatures. Irvine is a planned community so everything is well thought out and beautifully landscaped - a visual feast for the eyes. Yet there are plenty of untouched open spaces as well, some of which are open to the public for hiking and exploring. Most people I have met in Irvine are friendly and easy going. Our city has an amazing cultural diversity. We have people from many different parts of the world right on our street, and they are all very nice, neighborly folks. The only challenging part about Irvine is the cost of living. It does cost a little more to live here than in the neighboring towns, but if you can make it work, it is well worth the effort. I was raised in Irvine. After marrying and moving away, it took 15 years before I was financially able to move back and raise my children here. I highly recommend Irvine to anyone who wants a beautiful, low crime, family fun oriented area with lots of employment opportunities.
