6/1/2009Good review, although Corbin Independent schools are definatly the best in the area, and rank highly in the state. Not much diversity as far as religion goes, mainly baptist. Religion in a large part of the town. For the most part there is a significant gap in education levels and professionalism. Alot of very smart and distinguished professionals, but just as many if not more low life, drug abusing, deadbeats. Good town as long as you are in the right area and Sondra is very right about it being important to "know someone". Sometimes hard to move in new, if you do not know anyone, unless you are a doctor.

6/1/2009The local independent/city school Corbin Independent School Systems, is a very good system, particularly for the area. There are two nearby colleges in the surrounding cities (Williamsburg-University of the Cumberlands, and Barbourville-Union College). There is not much to do as far as entertainment goes, so there is usually good support for the athletic teams.
