8/25/2016I just moved to Spokane from Denver, CO, and for the most part, it's been a great decision. I moved because I like four seasons (mixed with rain unlike Denver), the size, natural beauty, but mostly because the cost of housing is SO affordable -- literally half of what you can buy in Denver. It's true that the city is mostly locals, which comes with a certain mentality (not real open minded) and the other thing to know is if you're moving here because of housing affordability, decent paying jobs are very tough to come by. Mostly between $10-$13) per hour. Lots of call centers, customer service, etc. If you're a professional who moves here with a high paying job, you'll love it!! The weather is fabulous (it's in the low '80s end of August!). I haven't lived through the other seasons, but after Denver, I'm not concerned about snow. I have heard people say that the city is terrible about plowing streets. What's up with that??
