Small to Mid-sized Midwest City -
12/9/2011Nice little town. Just big enough to have some smaller versions of chain stores (Best Buy, Lowe's, etc). Smaller local stores have a hard time surviving, with only a few exceptions.
There are a only a few larger "career" employers: UWSP, Sentry Insurance, Skyward, etc. Paper mills are closing, many other "blue collar" jobs are drying up.
Point is a college town (aforementioned UWSP) and a stop on the way to the summer & winter recreation areas of northern Wisconsin.
