i dont think you can call Orlando a town anymore, this place has evolved into a small to mid-sized city here in the last 10-15yrs.. im starting to realize that the majority of reviews on here are written by people who recently had a bad experience in their town and all the sudden "its the worst place to live" .. so im going to try and be as un-biased as possible.
Orlando, like any city has its pros + its cons. let me start with the dessert 1st- weather has got to be the #1 pro, this city has going for it, specially having mild winters where the temp hardly ever dips below 32(maybe a hand full times each year, and only for a few hrs over night) and in the summers it usually peaks @ about 95 (feels warmer) ive been in NY @ 105 degrees and our 90degrees feels hotter than 100+ up there! it rains almost everyday in the summer months but usually in the afternoons and usually pop-up showers here and there that are actually refreshing + keep our lawns looking good, very rare to have flooding in orlando! another pro i would have to say is the good mix of culture diversity, we have a good blend of people all shapes and colors + nationalities, lot of Puerto Ricans specially south orlando/Kissimmee + east Orlando(good food + good mechanics) There really arent any "bad Neighborhoods" here, i mean nothing where you'll get shot at or mugged! the only neighborhoods i avoid @ night are just on the westside of downtown(parramore + pinehills/silver star area) those are heavily black populated neighborhoods and no offence but we all know these neighborhoods arent too good @ night(in any city), Seminole county is nice Sanfords got a couple of hotspots but nothing like parramore,
and now for the veggies- Orlando has a biiiig traffic problem! mainly cause of the big 2000's boom where thousands + thousands moved down here, builders put subdivisions everywhere, yet no new roads + expressways built. so what would be a 10-15min commute to seminole co. takes between 1-2hrs depending on what part of rush hour. also theres no such there are no freeways in orlando, its all toll expressways where they have tolls like every 5 miles!!! the only thing free is I-4 and it can be a parking lot if you jump on @ the wrong time. another con is idiot tourist who drive horrible(mainly cause they dont know where they're going) but ive always thought that they should just barricade the Disney/Tourist District from the rest of the Metropolitan area : ).. and i dont complain about the rude drivers who cut you off and give you the bird (because after 10yrs here ive become one of them).. but yes! id agree with alot of the people who previously commented on Orlando having the Rudest drivers! thats about the only complaint i got with Orlando,
our night life is good(for adults) not too much for youngins who need to stay out till 7am+ (cause local bars close @ 2) but for your normal adult who can go out have a good time + be home about 3am Orlando's night life is pretty decent. Downtown Orlando is very nice, alotta bums unfortunately but hey what Downtown doesent have em? Cops dont mess with you too much, not too many speed traps in the metro area(hardly ever) any ticket ive ever had has been down in Osceola county (kissimmee/saint cloud area) .. well to sum it all up into one quick closing sentence.
Orlando,FL is a city like any other city(has its pros + cons) but for the most part the quality of life here is great! its great place to live a great place to bring up a family, and a great place to retire!
