Poor cold losers -
12/16/2011Yes-
You are mad because somebody finally admitted the Emperor has no clothes. MN is a declining culture (statistics show people are leaving- more than coming there) of old school, Scandinavian, want to be's who will never expand to other areas of the globe. You are chained to your mental/emotional suffering of a hard-scrabble existence of 7 month's plus per year of arctic level temperatures.
I am going to write a big, smelly book about this stinky place and it's stinker's which will be a bestseller on the NYT and make a million dollars off my suffering.

Minnecrapolis -
9/1/2011Mpls is still so overrated. Most people here have had the same group of friends for their entire life. There is no room for newcomers, (this coming from friends who were newcomers) or finding new friends after a certain age, if you moved or got divorced.
The people are generally very reserved and emotionless, (I know, I grew up here-and left after 40 years). If you're not married with kids, you will not fit in. If you don’t attend church regularly you will not fit in.
The taxes are really high, public transportation is almost non-existent; the weather is COLD for 7 months a year- every year- by cold I mean well below zero for up to a month at a time. Duck's freeze to the lakes cold. Faces freeze, cars turn into blocks of ice. In summer it's humid and sticky, and crowded everywhere in the MN frenzy to enjoy the short summers. The mosquitoes are as big as Volkswagens. Traffic gets worse each year- locals joke and says “there are two seasons in MN, winter and road construction”.
Housing is old and expensive in the "good” areas (Kenwood, Uptown, lakes area, SW Mpls area). If you move out further to a suburb to afford a home, you will spend your entire life driving to and from work. In my favorite uptown (Mpls) area, the cities idea of "progress" was to mow down a 60 year old (well loved) historical bar/restaurant and build an I pod store in it's place.(RIP Uptown Bar and Grill) . The entertainment favored, is to walk around a frozen lake in the winter with a $5 dollar coffee gossiping, or the same lake in summer with a $5 iced coffee gossiping, only to be almost run down by a biker or balder. This place is LAME compared to other places. If you were not sentenced to prison time in this place, then you can leave ( I know most MN think that is not possible), if you can avoid moving here I would advise you to steer clear. Better places for your money.

1/20/2010MN is so cold you will think you are in Alaska come Jan. Winter is Dark, cold, and 7 months long. Taxes are SKI-HIGH!! The people are a narrow minded,"hot-dish" eating church basement hanging,Garrison Keillor addicted bunch who wouldn't give outsiders a chance if you held a gun to their heads. Really, you can do better. Keep looking.

Siberia -
4/15/2009If you want to feel like you live in Siberia 6 months or more per year then this is the place for you. I don't think NASA even makes outerwear warm enough to feel comfortable in this ice box of a state.

Tired of winters here -
4/4/2009Being a native of MN I can say the only good thing about being here is being close to family. ALL Minnesotans lie about the length of winter to themselves and others. The winters last at LEAST 6 months and may not even be too warm come June. The relentless icy, dark, cold winters stretch on for months on end making the commute to work miserable. The howling wind and below zero wind chills make life here much like something out of a Stephen King movie- where you wait for your spouse to go bonkers, and smash through the door of your room with an axe after the 25th below zero day where you are trapped in your house with bad cable tv. If you look at the demographics people are fleeing this place not moving here- save yourself the trouble and move elsewhere..

Weather in MN-come here at your own risk -
4/4/2009I have been a native Minnesotan for 40 years. I can say with 100% certainty that the only thing keeping me here is my family and that is even stretching it. ALL Minnesotan's lie to themselves /others and say the winters only last 4 months and it keeps the rif raf out. Truth be told the winters here last at LEAST 6 months and may not even be that warm come June. The siberian like arctic blast lasts for months on end. The snow and ice never cease, the cold dark days and nights make life like a Stephen King novel-you wait for your husband to jump at you with an axe after your 14th day in January living in below zero temps-holed up in your house wathing cable. If you read our demographics you will see people are fleeing from this North American living ice box. Save yourself the trouble of freezing your a$$ off andd hating every day you have to get up and go to work.. Seek elsewhere unless you drive a dog sled to work.
