A Delightful Place to Retire -
8/24/2007For those of us who weren't reared there, Waynesville, NC lends itself best to being a small-town retirement community. The "Gateway to the Smokies" is a blissfully peaceful and picturesque town. Main Street is a charming, electic collection of galleries and shoppes. Health care is good: Haywood Regional Medical Center is all single occupancy rooms and Memorial Mission healthcare systems is less than thirty miles away. Best fit: you enjoy walking, reading, coffee shops, a good gym, and quiet days. For significant nightlife and culture, try nearby Asheville.
