| 6/16/2010 | other | I currently go to this school as a 6th grader and the teachers here are great . |
| 2/27/2010 | student | I attend Mayde Ceek Junior High currently as a seventh grader and its a pretty decent school. Our principal Mr.Hill is awesome always thinking of new and fun things for us to do. The teachers are nice most of the time. The faculty is not that nice but students dont have to deal with them often so it's ok. I enjoy the diversity of the school and would recommend it to anyone. People tend to overlook us because of the appearence but Mayde Creek is an awesome place and experience. I wish everyone else could see iit like we, the student, do! |
| 2/21/2010 | parent | Hi there, I have heard a lot of people saying that the teachers don't communicate with the parents enough, I think they do though, and they do help very much, example: in 6th grade (currently in 7th 2010) i was failing Pre-AP English and my teacher contacted my mother not two days after she informed me (three days after i started) and after a morning conference she decided to bump up my grade by 3 points to make it a 70-passing- she gave me another chance and said if i wasn't passing on my next report card i would be removed. |
| 1/6/2010 | parent | I had heard of the not so good reputation of Mayde Creek Jr. High prior to my daughter attending this year. I am happy to say, I don't see it. The teachers are very nice and on board. She is offered Martial Arts in lieu of PE, which she loves, and basically, she has enjoyed her 6th grade year thus far and I have no doubt she will enjoy the rest of her years there. In short, it's a good school! |
| 10/20/2008 | parent | This school is not the school of my choice. Theses kids are not having morals and good behavior taught to them. Teachers should stop worrying about hurting feelings and lawsuits and teach the 'Golden Rule'! |
| 10/19/2008 | parent | Our principal, Dr. Cazilda Steele, brings class and professionalism to our school. She is a hard-worker, advocates to get the best for our students and is always available to parents, students and staff. She instills the value and importance of each student and encourages them to be the best they can be. MCJH students enjoy coming to school and have wonderful relationships with their teachers. Parents are involved at home evident from the respectfulness of the students but more involvement in the PTA is desired. It is usually a handful of dedicated volunteers that do everything required of the PTA organization to serve the entire student body. Unfortunately, this is the case at many schools, not just an MCJH issue. I am very happy my child attends this school and highly recommend MCJH for a well-rounded education preparing you for high school. |
| 7/25/2007 | other | I was a student and I love this school. I'm brasilian and when I was there teachers helped me a lot. Thank you all for the help. Now I can speak english and I miss you! |
| 1/15/2007 | student | I think mayse creek is an excellent school with teachers who really care about children and take the time to give them as much indivisual attentinon as possible. |
| 5/8/2006 | parent | I think this school is a little overcrowded and there is too much gang activity going on in the school. Also, they need to enforce the dress code. If there going to have a dress code, it definately needs to be enforced! |
| 8/20/2005 | parent | First and for most Mayde Creek Jr. High has an excellent principal (Mr. Hull) who truly put kids first! My daughter Razzmine love ALL her teachers, because they truly care about each and every student at Mayde Creek Jr. High. I am so happy that Razzmine attends Mayde Creek Jr. High! |
| 6/22/2005 | parent | mayde creek is an above average school with a great langusge atrs progran and decent is all the other departments. |
| 9/24/2004 | parent | The most frequent complaint i hear from jr. High parents is that jr. High teachers do not communicate well with parents and that they don't seem to care about their students. This is not the case at mcjh. I receive immediate response when I contact my son's teacher(s). I am very pleased and impressed with the material he is learning. In addition, he is being challenged and taught with innovative types of instruction. Overall, my experience and my son's experience has been very positive at mcjh. |
| 2/25/2004 | parent | It has been my observation that the regular education teachers are not prepared to handle students with special needs. I am not sure if it is the individual teachers that I have dealt with or the school as a whole. My experience has been that the quality of substitute teachers is not very good. If the regular teacher have problems working with students that have special needs, such as dyslexsia, ADD, and ADHD then the subsitute teachers are extremely poor also. Teaching strategies and IEP'S for these types of students are not adhered to. It may be for lack of resources (monitary or personnel or both and lack of knowledge regarding the conditions). This may account for the decrease in the recent scores. This school needs some interventions and assistance from administration, because the teachers alone they can not improve this situation even if the teachers try harder it is not all their fault. |
