12/30/2011otherI am a senior at Heritage Academy and absolutly LOVE it!!! You are surrounded by teachers that will work many extra hours just to make sure you understand and the other students give off the spirit of Positive peer-pressure!!!!!!
11/9/2011parentOur family loves the education our daughter is recieving at Heritage. We are not LDS and feel that religion is not really a part of her scholatistic education. Being a religious minority is not an issue in our home. The staff is fabulous, the rules just stringent enough and the activities monitored well by both parents and teachers. I appreciate the stress on education, community and country while letting the kids express themselves occassionally. I higghly recommend this school and encourage non-Heritage parents to visit!
9/17/2011parentAs one reviewer pointed out, the majority of the students are LDS. My kids who are not LDS love their school and are not affected by being in the minority. They are very happy and secure in their school. They run a tight ship and it is a great environment.
5/24/2011otherFirst off, I mean no offense to anyone by what i state in this review, it is merely to state fact; if it offends you in any way, I sincerely appoligize. You may be wonering why i gave this school 2/5 stars. Well, it is a personal rating that only would apply to the minority at this school which includes myself. It is true that Heritage Academy provides an excellent education to it's students. However, there are seveal flaws in this school that can be very uninviting. ALL teachers at Heritage Academy are L.D.S. and roughly 90% of it's students are as well. I, not being L.D.S., am very uncomfortable going to this school as it is assumed that you have the same beliefs as most people there. I give a strong warning to anyone looking into this school that is not L.D.S. This, paired with the strong right wing political standpoint of the teachers makes for a very biased school. The history books are written "in christian perspective" and leave out key parts to them because of this. I don't have many characters left to finish this review and I wish I had more, so I will keep it short. If you are looking for a good education, I implore you to go to Tempe Prep, or another charter school.
3/2/2010parentEverything about the school is excellent! Three of my children have attended and received great educations. Not only this, but they thoroughly enjoyed the experience and opportunities.
1/10/2010studentI love it!!!! everything about it is excellent! teachers, classes, faculty, student programs, everything! I feel ahead of the game, more educationally advanced and prepared and ready for the future! Our nation is a big part of my learning and my friends and I find ourselves discussing political topics not only at lunch but in conversation out of school. We are comfortable in our opinions and we love to share what we have learned at Heritage. Its our own family away from home. When we see each other out of class, its like a little family reunion. Our most popular phrase is... 'Only At Heritage'. It means exactly that and we love it. Love it or Leave it!
5/5/2009studentI've been going to Heritage since 7th grade and plan to stay on through my senior year (only 2 short years away, actually). It is an absolutely wonderful school with friendly teachers that you can easily learn from, especially with the small class sizes. Their emphasis on the Founding Fathers and principles of good government are definitely things you need to know going out into the world. Truly, it is creating America's next generation of heroes.
4/1/2009parentI consider my children lucky for having such a top notch school so closeby. I've known people that have moved from other states just to have their kids attend Heritage. That says a lot!
10/18/2008studentI went to heritage for seventh grade and then moved but i loved everything about it and wish i could go back. I liked every teacher and i enjoyed the classes. I learned so much about American history and the latin language. ill never forget it.
8/12/2008studentI loved being at Heritage Academy! I was there from 7th grade till 12th. The teachers there aren't just teaching what is in the books. They are examples of what every teacher sould be like in ever school. I cant wait to send my kids there! The clean rooms to the clean campus make for a great learning environment. Heritage will be close to my heart forever!
5/17/2008parentGreat teachers, staff. I feel like I have many pairs of caring eyes on my children when I leave them at school under their care. They offer an extremely valuable education, not dismissing the things most schools leave out of the curriculum in order to be politically correct. They teach history as it was. I appreciate the devoted staff and environment that Heritage provides. I have 3 children attending there and am so thankful this school is an option for us!
3/28/2007former studentI attended Heritage Academy for six years and although at times it was tough and I didn't always agree with some of the rules, I loved it. I signed a contract before I began my schooling there and I was expected to keep that. Heritage teaches responsibility and also that our personal involvement in our environment is mandatory if we wish to change things. The teachers are very personable and genuinely care. Its really just like a big family over there. Any child who attends there will come out stronger and more confident in their abilities.
12/10/2006parentI agree with all the other positive feedback given by the others - good values, safe, patriotic, respectful, etc. This is what all schools should be like. We have moved to another state and miss Heritage a great deal. The teachers are there because they want to be. The students want to be there too. They are involved and enjoy learning all subjects. The sports programs were not very good, but that was the only down side.
9/12/2006parentHeritage is a good school because the kids and parents are good people. It is safe, friendly, and a positive, family atmosphere. The Spanish program is weak, but they have a good variety of electives.
7/8/2005parentI found their drama/art department to be top notch. Our children were involved in the sports program. Even though it is small it provided opportunities that they probably wouldn't have gotten elsewhere. The academic program is strong and the learning environment is wonderful. The teachers are great. I was not on the school board or PTO but but was heavily involved in the childrens activities.
3/8/2005parentThe Heritage Academy offers more than most chartered schools. It has all the required classes to get into college. They also offer drama, dance, music, band, some sports, and many other electives. The students wear uniforms. They truly care about the students.
3/29/2004studentGreat school for learning about our nations history and appreciate what our founding fathers sacrificed to give us the freedom in whcich we have today.
3/31/2003  I'm very pleased with this school. I put my child in for Jr. High and have now decided to leave him in through graduation. We love the modest dress and high standards that are expected.
10/15/2002 I was very impressed with the school from the very beginning, and I have never been disappointed with the overall quality. Principal, administrative staff and teachers show genuine concern and respect for the students. My daughter loves it and would never want to move to another school.
10/15/2002 Mr. Taylor helps to make government come alive for the kids. My children have a much better understanding of the way things were meant to work than I every got from any teacher in school.
