| 5/27/2008 | parent | My son has gone to this school since kindergarten. He will be entering the 4th grade this year. I do not have any other experience is relationship to what makes a great school, but I can say that this school far exceeds my expectations to date. Parent involvement is absolutely wonderful on both ends, parents want to be involved and HVE definately encourages them to be involved. |
| 7/4/2007 | parent | my daughter went here for 5th and 6th grade coming in from a private school -- she was way ahead then the others in her class and basically waited around for others to catch up -- teach tot he lowest level philosophy and most the kids are LDS which was very difficult with clicks |
| 5/11/2007 | parent | My 3 kids transferred in from a valley charter school. There was a big adjustment at first. Two of my three kids made it fine, but my older son had trouble. I found his teacher was not very supportive or interested in doing much to help him. My kids other teachers were very nice. The office staff are wonderful! |
| 5/1/2007 | parent | My Daughter has been going to Hermosa Vista for 3 years 2 of which we lived out of the area and she got a boundary exception. This is a great school and I drove 33 miles out of my way every day to bring her to this school. I recently bought a home primarily because it is in the Hermosa Vista District. |
| 3/5/2007 | parent | This is a terrific school. The parents are very involved, the scholastic standards are high, and the principal really loves the kids. I'm consistently impressed with the events they put on. They also have the Bridges Program which helps with kids that have trouble staying 'on task' and focusing. We are so blessed our kids go to Hermosa Vista--I tell the principal every time I see her. It's a great place for our girls to learn and grow. |
| 10/29/2005 | parent | Hermosa Vista is a wonderful school with high academic standards. The teachers all seem to understand the balance between challenging the kids while still allowing them to have fun, and be a kid. The extra curricular activities could be improved, there aren't many offered. |
| 7/12/2005 | parent | I have two children in Hermosa Vista. I have been satified with the regular academics, as well as the extracurricular activities. I am not happy, however with the ELP program. |
| 6/24/2005 | parent | The front office staff is great and very helpful and informative when it comes to the different programs offered at Hermosa vista. My child's teacher was so great and patient with my child. I really enjoy the exposure of having special needs children in the regular classrooms I feel it is very benficial in the long run for all children to help promote a non-discriminatory school. Also the free reading summer program is awesome. |
| 5/19/2004 | parent | I have found the staff fairly easy and friendly to work with. The music program is great. The advanced placement program is wanting - they only meet once a week. The cafateria food could improve too, but it is acceptable. The special ed kids seem to be included in the regular classrooms regularly and the exposure to special needs is good for my children. The teachers listen to concerns and work with me without being defensive. The pre k and kindergarten programs are great - only too short. Good school. |
| 6/29/2003 | | Hermosa Vista is the best school ever! They are friendly and accepting. They help my child be the best he can be! |
