| 9/21/2012 | parent | The current Principal hasn't got a clue how to run a school, and should be retired. We tried it out to see if the school lived up to all the claims that were being made, and as soon as the first quarter ends, we are moving our child. I have overheard other parents complaining, and I can see this school will be losing more and more students. In my opinion, any public school in Cochise County is better than this school, if only I had known, I never would have put my child through this horrible experience. |
| 6/25/2012 | teacher | I wonder if they still have one teacher for every two grades (i.e. single teacher for 1st and 2nd, etc...). This situation saved $, but made for a miserable school year!! My suggestion .... If you can get a better public education for free - Why would you pay tuition for less? |
| 2/21/2012 | parent | The new principal is excellent and is moving the school in the right direction. Atmosphere is positive, organized, and directed. The parish and pastor are now fully supportive. Most teachers are very good, but they need to fill a couple of key positions with stable higher performing teachers. My daughter is happy, appropropriately challenged by the work, and is thriving. It is wonderful to have a solid catholic school in our community. |
| 2/14/2012 | parent | I don't know if the previous review wasfrom an actual parent. The reason why the school attendance dropped was because of the old principal. Sister Carol treats everyone equally and this is by far the best school I have seen in Sierra Vista. All schools have fund raisers. The children in the school are very well mannered and the parent involvement is amazing. If you want the best education in a nurturing environment that helps children to grow and develop to the best of their potential, this is the school to be at. |
| 8/24/2011 | other | All Saints Catholic School has grades Preschool-8th grade. It is a great, family atmosphere school. The teachers are very enthusiastic and interact well with the students and with the parents. The school is Catholic and one knows it upon entering the school grounds. There is tuition assistance available so all students of any economic background are able to attend. |
| 8/24/2011 | parent | As a parent new to this school, I was hesitant to enroll my child, due to some bad press the school received within the last two years. Change was needed, and amazing change has come with the arrival of Sister Carol. Sister is demonstrating the type of visionary leadership All Saints school needed. She has yet to say no to anything that has been suggested to her, responding always with " How can I make that happen." The staff I have witnessed are professional, classes are small, there are fantastic materials and supplies, the building is new, and the children are well disciplined. What more could a parent want? The school is expensive, but I have been told assistance is available. |
| 8/18/2011 | parent | With the exodus of the principal, secretary and several outstanding teachers, the quality and the family-like feeling of the school is gone. The enrollment of children is way down, I don't know how the school will be able to afford the staff. Hopefully, the school can rebound, because it is the only Catholic school in town. |
| 7/25/2011 | parent | ALthough there have been many changes at ASCS, they are all for the better. My son has attended since Kindergarden and was doing 4th grade work for most of 3rd grade. There are some fantastic teachers there now and a new principal who is a nun. If a Christian environment, family atmosphere and better-than-public academics is for you, check it out. There is tuition assistance for nearly everyone. |
| 6/24/2011 | parent | I know this school is great. The old principal left near the end of the school year in 2011. The Tucson Diosese hired a Nun as the new principal, Sister Carol. She has been a principal at Catholic Schools in the past and has been teaching for many years, most recently in Hawaii. Even before the change in administration our daughter improved in her grades compared to being in public school. The classes are small and she gets individual attention. |
| 6/24/2011 | parent | All Saints Catholic School is wonderful. The tuition assistance is great. More than 75% of the student body receives tuition assistance. Parents are encouraged to participate in the fund raising events and to provide suggestions. |
| 6/7/2011 | parent | All Saints Catholic School has suffered quite a bit throughout the past three years. With the departure of the principal and the administrative assistant brighter days are here. The mood of the school has already improved and the new principal, a Catholic sister from Hawaii with tons of experience, will soon be in place. Now is the time for new students to come in and for students who left during the past three years to return. |
| 2/2/2011 | parent | Unfortunately, with the new principal came a lack of good leadership and unfair treatment of some very good teachers. It's a shame! My kids went there for years. It was a strong, positive environment until a couple years ago. Many lovely children and families have chose to leave due to the new principal. Very unprofessional administration. For those who believe everything is ok, look very carefully please!. |
| 12/14/2010 | other | Great school in the past. Declining enroll and increased mid-year tuition not a good sign. |
| 10/5/2010 | parent | This is a very unsatisfactory school. The lack of enthusiasm to assist parents and children is very disappointing considering the tuition amount. They seem to allow personal business (or drama) and have it interfere with their professional performance. They do have a lot of involvement of other parents, though. |
| 8/12/2010 | teacher | I recommend that parents do not enroll their child at OLM (now All Saints Catholic School). Enrollment has decreased significantly so now all classes from third to eighth grades are doubled up. This cannot be good. |
| 6/13/2010 | parent | I left after the 2009-2010 school year. I gave plenty of chance for All Saints Schools (the new name) to improve. I wouldn't send my child there anymore. |
| 10/19/2009 | student | I used to go to OLM. It was an amazing school, with very friendly staff and classmates, though my teacher wasn't the best.. I now go to a catholic school in VA, and I'm sad to say that OLM was far better. If you want friends for life, go to this school. Education, (academic and religious), Environment, and the Institution itself is incredible. |
| 8/19/2009 | parent | Thank God for this loving, caring excelling school. Test scores are outstanding, staff are extremely friendly and will go out of their way to help your child succeed. We are so blessed to have this school! |
| 8/11/2009 | parent | Not a school I would send my little ones to anymore. I did not feel welcome or accommodated. |
| 7/26/2009 | parent | I moved my kids to our local public school after last year. Coronado school, the public school does even better then OLM (All saints). Why spend my money when I can get a good education free. |
| 7/16/2009 | parent | No matter where a person sends their kids to school someone will find a reason to complain. Looking at the big picture, however, I cannot say enough good things about All Saints (fomerly OLOM). The teachers are excellent and genuinely care about the students, the principal is responsive and professional, and I love that it's a small school with an excellent teacher/student ratio. This is reassuring as individual needs of students will be identified and met. My child is thriving educationally at this school and cannot wait to return. Just as important, I feel my child is in a safe learning environment. I have recommended parents to send their children to this school and will continue to do so. |
| 7/15/2009 | parent | I wish I could say that the school is the best. It is improving but has a ways to go. Give it another year or two. My kids will stay in the hope that improvement will continue. |
| 7/11/2009 | parent | What a wonderful school for my preschooler and second grader! I can't say enough positive comments about the principle, teachers and staff! It is amazing how my children are excelling academically and spiritually. Other programs offered are: Spanish, PE and Music, my child is learning to play the piano during music class! Since the new principle has come aboard, the school has improved greatly in many areas. The name change for the school, All Saints Catholic School, has come about because the school wants to be 'all' encompassing of all three Catholic churches in our area. I would recommend this school to anyone living our area. A wonderfully warm school awaits your child at this school! |
| 4/26/2009 | other | The school has changed this year. I am not sure that it is the principal who caused this. It is really a pervasive uncertainty regarding the school's viability. There are indications that the school is shrinking and will have to double up classes, which is incredibly unhealthy. Overall a good school. Just know that you know what you enter. |
| 4/23/2009 | parent | This school has changed recently. The new principal has sadly adjusted the focus from primarily academics to primarily appearance. The lack of emphasis on faith is a bit troubling. The curriculum is fine. Large teacher turnover. Wait a year or two before placing your child in the school. |
| 2/7/2009 | parent | I love this school. I can't say enough good things about the staff. My children have absolutely flourished in this loving Christian environment. It's worth every penny and more. |
| 5/24/2008 | parent | My son went to OLMCS from grades 1-8. Ever since OLMCS started following the requirements established by the Diocese of Tucson, the school has gotten much better in prayer, scholastics, and sportsmanship. The teachers are excellent, the only ones better being the Nuns! I advise all Catholics to send their children to OLMCS -- they will do much better when they have to go to a public high school! 8th grade graduation was really special for the kids, and it can only get better! Much better morally, socially, and scholastically to send your child here than to Apache or SVMS middle schools! |
| 9/3/2007 | parent | I think OLM has a great school from K-5. |
| 7/21/2007 | parent | Our Lady of the Mountain is a small Catholic School which is accredited and has grown with the student population. We are new to the area but very impressed with the quality of the teachers, staff and parent involvement. |
| 6/29/2007 | parent | Great school with a family environment. Parental involvement is always welcome and encouraged. Nice bright classrooms and a lot of extra activities such as a string program, Kiwanis for kids, and religious education. |
| 5/19/2007 | parent | Outstanding school. My daughter has been there for two years of preschool and prekinder and loves it. Very close knit school. I highly recommend OLM. |
| 3/27/2007 | parent | The academic program now goes through the 8th grade. Small class size is a plus! They have music, art, spanish, computer class and a string program. There are many areas for parents to get involved in. Over all a great school. |
| 3/8/2007 | parent | I love the preschool and the kindergarten programs offered. They also have a wonderful art teacher and offer music, PE, and Spanish. The teachers seem to really love the children and enjoy being there. There is a lot of parental involvement, and the class sizes are small. |
| 7/17/2005 | parent | The preschool program for this school is wonderful. There is two grades, Preschool and Pre-K. |
