| 6/15/2012 | parent | Barstow High school has the best principal around. I was afraid to send my child to high school because of bullies and I feel great that there was no problem. My son even brings his I PAD to school because of the IEP (special needs program) He is allowed to bring items that will help him do better in school through the help. I was worried about theft though there was not a problem. Other students left him alone and did not bother him. The teachers knew he needed help though did not just pass him through and he had to work for his grades. The teachers treat him with respect and e-mailed me if there was a problem. He is now going in the 10th grade passing all his classes. I am very thankful for all the teachers, staff, and principal. The staff is always polite when I visit. Even the Vice Principal took care of issues for me so I did not have to bother the principal. Even the staff that was out helping with the traffic is friendly and able to move the traffic through. All and all, I feel that my son is safe and he is working hard for his grades. |
| 4/5/2012 | parent | Great school! We love leaving our children where we know we can count on them being safe. The school pushes them academically. The Principal and staff give 110% to the kids success. We also love that the kids learn strong Christian principles. And they added a music program! So glad that we put our children in this school! |
| 2/9/2011 | other | II used to be a student at BCS, and found that when we moved to a different California town, I was far ahead of all of the other students in classes like math and sciences. The classes at BCS really fueled my academic drive while challenging me and causing me to think at a higher level. That may sound like an exaggeration for 7th grade, but it's true. In BCS, I maintained somewhere around a 3.6 or 3.7 GPA, but at my new school I had a 4.0 GPA with all my grades in the 95-100% range. I ended up graduating high school last year with a 4.1 GPA and a 1950 on the SAT. I am now enrolled in college in the honors program, and I am hoping to pursue a career as a medical doctor. And it all started at BCS. All of the other reviews are from the perspective of current students, so I thought I would give the possible long term outlooks. And on a side note, Mrs. Bradford, the current principal, was one of my younger sister's favorite teachers, and our family always thought she was perfect for the job. |
| 12/26/2010 | parent | My son has been at this school for 5years. We love the small class size. There is daily Bible instructions. All the staff knows all the kids. Which makes letting us know if there is a problem sooner. The only thing I wish is there was more physical education. |
| 3/24/2009 | parent | I have two children enrolled in this school and have nothing but great things to say about it. The small classroom ratios and excellent teacher principal and parent communication makes it an A+ in my book. My children are also ahead acedemically compared to the public elementary schools that Barstow has to offer. |
| 1/28/2009 | parent | My daughter is in Pre-K at Barstow Christian and she loves it. She loves going and has learned so much. I love the staff and the other children who are there. It is the best thing I have found living here. |
| 8/18/2008 | parent | My daughter is currently enrolled in the Pre K program and I must say in the last year she has learned just as much as her older sister who is in public school. I love the staff and the day to day activites are great. |
| 6/5/2008 | student | Well, although I have only attended Barstow Christian school for one year, I was very pleased to be apart of such a wonderful school. I went there for 8th grade, and I was so sad to leave it. I loved that school so much that I went there everyday I never missed a day. The teachers there are so amazing, and the students are extremely nice. It's so easy to make friends there it's just wonderful. There are no fights, no violence, the teachers aren't real strict, you learn a lot...you get a good education. Overall, it has been the best school I have ever attended! I would reccomend it to anybody looking for a Private school in the Barstow area! This school is oustanding! I used to be a girl with striaght F's and this school helped me improve my grades to As and Bs, it's thats outstanding! |
| 10/13/2007 | parent | My son has been in the school 2 years now and loves going everyday. I'm very pleased with the type and amount of work that he does. |
| 3/17/2004 | parent | Barstow Christian has provided my child with a great education and a tremendous spiritual foundation. Mrs. Heather Bradford is the current 1st and 2nd grade teacher and she is excellent. Reading is very important to her, and she works with each child to make sure they are all on target. When my child entered the 1st grade her reading skills were not developed. Mrs. Bradford worked with her after school hours and now she is an excellent reader. If you are relocating to the Barstow area, I would highly recommend this school. |
