| 11/5/2012 | parent | One child received an excellent education in the seven years (K-6) he was at TEADS and was extremely well prepared for middle school. My second child is starting his third year at TEADS (PreK-1). The worst threat I could make was to not take them to school because its a place they want to be. That's a direct result of the caring, warm environment where the academic emphasis does not overshadow the importance of becoming a good person. TEADS warm family-like atmosphere has resulted in many long lasting relationships with families, teachers and staff. |
| 4/17/2012 | teacher | We have had a wonderful experience at TEADS. Both of my children are happy and well rounded. All of the teachers are caring and meet my children's needs. |
| 4/16/2012 | parent | My girls have been at the school since they could breathe practically. They have been nurtured, challenged, and continue to make strides because of the teachers and staff there daily. I am lucky to be part of the community. |
| 2/20/2012 | parent | This is a wonderful school, perhaps the best kept secret. Great teacher, loving atmosphere, good academics, and great value system. They really care about every single child, not in words but in action. I feel very lucky to have found them. |
| 2/17/2012 | parent | Amazing loving teachers - respect the kids and their needs. Very safe atmosphere. The school let each and every child grow on their own rythem - no preasure. We Love it - it is our second family. |
| 2/14/2012 | parent | What makes Emanuel unique from other schools is their emphasis in the arts and creativity and because the school is small your voice will always be heard. The teachers love what they do and are really talented educator always willing to help and get better. With small classes the education and attention your child receives is exceptional. Parent involvement and participation in school activities is very high resulting in even a better quality of care and education for our children. Emanuel has the right atmosphere for my family: people are friendly, welcoming and have mentch values. At Emanuel you get a warm feeling of belonging to a big nice family from the first moment you get in. |
| 2/8/2012 | parent | We love TEADS. The parent community was very welcoming to us as a new family. Our daughter's teacher is knowledgeable NAND compassionate. She teaches through hands on discovery and adapts to the individual needs of each student. No one is bored or left behind. The students all know each other and show their own sense of community. It's a wonderful school to help mold my child. |
| 11/10/2010 | parent | Teds for us is so much more then just a school, this is our community, our 2nd family, our home away from home. Each child in the school is an individual, not one out of many and is treated with the most respect and attention. The children are learning to be creative thinkers and problem solvers and at the same time being encouraged and challenged to learn more then their peers if they are capable too. |
| 9/27/2010 | parent | Temple Emanuel is much more than a school, it's a big family. My kids are loving it, every day. I'm happy with what they learn and the teacher have great attitude and love the kids. |
| 9/7/2010 | parent | Temple Emanuel Academy Day School is a real gem. They offer opportunities for each child to develop and shine. Small classes and truly individualized curriculum, spirituality and prayer, hebrew language, and a family feel make this a special place. Everyone knows your child here: the Principal and Rabbis, teachers, and security guards. We know our children are safe (physically, emotionally , and educationally) when they enter the school. Our parent body is active and engaged and runs several fun events during the year, such as a Latke Party, Purim Carnival, Book Fair, etc. The academics are outstanding; the teachers are caring and available to talk about your child. Likewise, the director of education, the head of school, and the assistant principal are accessible and involved. |
| 6/26/2010 | parent | I'm an engineer and am very concerned about the lack of science and technology taught in our schools. A friend referred me to Tempe Emanuel and all I can say is wow! My child is learning 3-D modeling, robotics, programming, and Excel! Every day he comes home with great stories about science experiments! I'm quite impressed with the science teacher there, he actually has a real science degree and has done research, so understands how to conduct scientific inquiry. |
| 11/14/2008 | student | i love this school man ive been going here for 7 years and its the best |
| 6/6/2008 | parent | the reviewers below are correct-this is one of the best schools in Los Angeles, period. Our younger daughter is in first grade and we have na older duaghter who went through a different Jewish school. The academics are incredibly high and we can already see that the scope of what our first grader is doing is far beyond what her older sister was doing at another local school. If you want Hebrew and Judaica, the amount is perfect for those of you who are concerned about the balance between general studies and Hebrew. The teachers are amazing-I have not seen this level of warmth, skill and thoughtfulness in teachers and a curriculum. We are so grateful to have found Temple Emanuel. |
| 7/12/2007 | parent | This is the best school on the Westside that nobody knows about. While there are many good public schools in the area, Emanuel Academy offers something more than strong academics. They offer an education enriched by the arts and music. The classes are very small - my son has two teachers in a class of 13 - and he has blossomed. He was previously in the academically focused Beverly Hills School System, where he was not thriving (although his brother was). We questioned whether or not a Jewish education would be limiting, but it has been uplifting instead. My husband is Jewish and I am not but the community is warm and embracing to all. |
| 11/16/2006 | parent | We enrolled our first child in the school, became members of the shul and the combination gave our family a warm sense of community. Our son attended TEADS kindergarten and graduated from 6th grade. He currently is a 10th grader in high school. TEADS prepared him very well academically and he has maintained the friends he made at TEADS. Our Daughter started TEADS in Kindergarten and currently is in the 6th grade. It has been a wonderful experience for her both academically and socially. She participates in many of the schools extracurricular activities, i.e. Theater, Choir and arts programs. She is will prepared and has the skills to enter a new environment next year for 7th grade. |
| 11/5/2006 | parent | My children have been attending Emanuel Academy for the past 9 years. My now 14 year old was 5 in 1997 when he first enrolled and then graduated in 2005. My twins are now in the 5th grade. Emanuel Academy not only provided them with a great education, but also made it possible for them to grow and flourish as people. They learned how to be sweet, respectful people as well as excel academically. Emanuel's style of education integrates the children's studies into all aspects of their lives. It is also a wonderful place for parents and families. I always felt completely comfortable dropping my children off every day. I knew that they would be cared for and educated on a highly personal level and Emanuel Academy became their home away from home. It has been a rich experience for all of us. |
| 11/2/2006 | parent | Emanuel Academy is one of the best kept secrets in Los Angeles. Even though we reside in the Warner School District, it was an easy decision to send our daughter to Emanuel Academy. Emanuel Academy provides an extremely challenging, but supportive, academic environment. My daughter's first grade class has eleven students in the class. The student teacher ratio in the class is less than 3:1 (Four teachers for eleven kids). The teachers are clearly there because they want to teach at Emanuel Academy. Most importantly, the school, including the students, teachers, parents and administrators, are very much like a family. |
| 9/18/2006 | parent | Emanual Academy is a hidden gem. The entire staff knows each child by their name. The teachers are warm and caring and treat each child as an individual. We switched our son from another school nearby and cannot believe the difference and how fortunate we feel to be a part of such a wonderful community |
| 2/9/2006 | parent | Loving, nurturing environment for preschoolers. We are looking forward to finding out about kindergarten and on... |
