| 9/26/2007 | parent | Matt Hermann is a true leader ! he takes pride and ownership in Montair -- he believes in his students and works very well with parents. What's great is that he runs and manages the school.....the parents do not ! We are so pleased with Montair - it's a great community for our daughter to be in- - we're very lucky ! |
| 3/31/2006 | parent | Wonderful, dedicated teachers and principal. Lovely updated school. |
| 2/13/2006 | parent | We just love Montair. I am especially impressed with the school's strategy of involving parent volunteers and High school helpers ( san Ramon High school girls come and volunteer at least one hour everyday ). The kids look forward to them and they are being considered as positive role models. So for most activities the adult to child ratio becomes 5:1 and the kids benefit from this close supervision and guidance. They have music, PE , gardening, library and computers...my daughter loves all these activities. My daughter's teacher is very organised;always prepared and totally clued in to the exact strenghths and areas of improvement of each child. Very strong parent community. Lots of social activities like carnivals, valentine dance, live auctions etc. Overall a very safe, friendly environment. They have a great balance of academics and extra co-curricular activities. The school staff is very very warm and friendly. |
| 1/11/2006 | parent | Principal Matt Herman is as good as there is. He works unbelievably hard, and at any level - whatever needs to be done. His leadership is reflected throughout a sensational school. |
| 4/7/2005 | parent | My two children who are current students at Montair, continue to have a very positive and enriching learning experience. My son's current 5th grade teacher is very talented and creative, and is quite skillful in encouraging children of varying abilities--from the highly gifted to those who struggle a bit--to perform to their very best in her class. My younger son, has a very warm and caring teacher, who has really helped my son- who tends to be quiet in class, to blossom and excel in Math. There are about 500 students in this school, and the principal knows every single student and calls them by name!! The teachers are very good and the parents are quite suppportive as well. I am very happy with Montair-my children are really enjoying their experience in this wonderful school. |
| 8/17/2004 | parent | Our experience at Montair was so bad our son begged not to attend. His teacher made it clear that she did not like boys, concentrated her attention on a few select girls and ignored the rest of the class. She was late at least 2 days a week and completely unprepared when she did finally show up. When we requested that our son be moved to another class the principal stated that it was impossible because 'then everyone would want to be in a class with a good teacher'. We have left the area and are finally in an outstanding school with enthusiatic teachers and an involved principal...what a change! |
| 6/16/2004 | parent | Great school. Teachers go out of their way to get to know students to and help each student succeed. |
| 6/1/2003 | | The atmosphere, environment, students, and teachers are excellent. This school is truly a 'neighborhood' school. |
