4/3/2012studentI am a graduate at this school. I attended this school for 4 years and through those years, I saw many changes in the school, whether it is the cosmetic, academic, or staff changes. What I have to say is that this school is much better than the reputation it has, and this is because I've had friends that transfered from other schools to Fresno High to attend their senior year, and that is what they personally told me. I was also a student in the IB Program that this school offered, and I have to say that the IB Program really help guide my way through high school, and onto a University. Long story short for anyone who is looking to attend this school, or sending their child to this school, the Pro of this school would be the programs that this school offers. There are the rare IB Program, CAHSEE Prep Program, many different Afterschool programs, JROTC (Military) Program, Parent/School meeting programs for all different language, etc. The cons would be the very strict rules school enforces due to the school district. This school makes students feel like they are locked up in prison when they step on campus, which doesn't prep you for college in an open environment.
4/29/2009teacherFresno High is an International Baccalaurette school and therefore we do not give many A.P. exams opting for the I.B. program which is a much more rigorous and much better in terms of academic quality. Clyde Auston
9/22/2008parentThis school is one of the top. Many people consider to be a rough, low class, or low achieving school but it's quite the opposite. It is very diverse, has great dedicated teachers, & an awesome IB Program! My daughter attended there for 3 years, and it was a great experience for her. It prepared her for the real world. Her Junior High years and 1st year of Highschool were spent in Clovis Unified, but it didn't fit her. In CUSD, teachers seemed to overlook the 'over-achievers' & my daughter was a straight A student. In my experience, Fresno High was great because it helps students individually achieve to their highest capability. Even though she wasn't interested in an international college, the fact that she was accepted to their IB proigram looked great on her r sum , & she got accepted to 6 out of 7 colleges. I highly recommend this school.
8/25/2008studentthis school is excellent! the people are nice, the teachers are cool, and everyone is friendly!
8/6/2007studentI'm a up coming senior and I have to say that Fresno High School is the best school I have had many chances to attend Clovis High Schools, but I decided to stay at Fresno High School one way I can describe Fresno High School is diverse and full of opportunity. ' Proud to be a Warrior' Class of 08
5/1/2007parentWhat a great school! This is the only school which carries the city's name. Why such a bad rap. I have found the school to be amazing! It starts at home and carries over. I am so proud to be an Alumni and a parent of a graduating Senior and incoming Freshman. I wouldn't have my children attend any other school. Come out and see what is going on. You'll find a campus full of wonderful students, student athletes, staff and a supporting surrounding community. Proud to be a Warrior!
4/20/2007former studentFresno High has been at the forefront of the smaller learning communities. For 17 years the Fresno High Marketing Academy has been doing its job educating students for college and career all within a smaller, school-within-a-school framework. This program has been the impetus for other small learning communities on the campus. Fresno High does some things very well, however, it still needs to work on giving every student the same experience.
2/6/2006former studentWhile it is difficult to get most students here motivated, there is a very good top 10% of the school. This includes the athletes, the AP students, and those in student government. Lasts years graduationg class saw 2 students off to UC Berkeley, 2 to UC Davis, many to UCLA, one student to Dratmouth, and many students to State schools, shuch as Fresno State. The Athletic programs in the last few years have showed vast improvement. The Baseball team has not missed the playoffs in any of the last 4 years, making it to the Central California Section Championship game in 2004, as did the football team the following year. The FHS band is great, quite often going out of state for compitions.
11/24/2005studentGood Programs for students, Good teachers very communicative with their students
3/31/2005parentI have had one child graduate (as valedictorian) from Fresno High School, and currently have a senior son and sophomore daughter attending the school. The education at Fresno High is wonderful. The teachers are well educated and prepared, the staff includes enthusiastice new teachers, as well as veterans who really know their stuff. The principal, Mr. Reyes, truly has an 'open door policy' for both parents and students.
5/4/2004parentMy Daughter is about to graduate from Fresno High. After four years at this school, she has the tools needed for success at a four year college. The faculty has been encouraging and challenging and I remain grateful to them for the fine education they provided my daughter. In particular I would thank Mrs. Nguyen and Ms. Oller who provided the right mix of encouragement and rigorous curriculum. The IB program is not the only good thing about Fresno High. The entire faculty and staff is caring and supportive of students of all levels of ability. Thank you Fresno High for helping me turn out such a fine, well-rounded young woman.
4/11/2004parentI have enrolled my daughter, Taylor in Fresno High because of the I.B. program. Fresno High is one of 1400 schools world wide authorized to offer this rigorous academic program. Bob Reyes the principle provides positive leadership and encourages parental involvement. The teaching staff is highly motivated and willing to devote whatever time it takes to meet the needs of the students. Kelley Forse
