| 3/10/2010 | parent | I believe Charleston does the best that it can considering the school district doesn't give it the credit it deserves or money for that matter. My child has been constantly challenged by current and passed teachers. All previous reviews have been honest and though it may seem 'clicky' it doesn't bother me I am NOT there for a social life but for my child's education. I have had friends who went there and were way ahead of the curve in HS. I am hoping the same for my child. I also believe that parent involvement is key to any child's education. |
| 1/23/2010 | parent | Big let down! Pricipal and teachers giving each other goo goo eyes. Last time I checked you grow out of that in high school. I no that there are only a few great! teachers there and if your lucky to get one of them(Ms.Davis, Mrs.Gurgen) just to name a couple. Others teachers may not like these teachers due to they raise the bar on education, and the other teachers actually may have to do there jobs. Alot of the others teachers need to step it up.Lets see a garden and disney TV or an education hmm! I wonder what the kids would choose? I promise if you are lucky enough to get the teachers mentioned above your child will get the education they deserve. And as for the clicks even some teachers are in it. Im watching a neighbor go threw the lower grades, shes not impressed at all.But no other choices. |
| 6/4/2009 | parent | Parent involvement is the key. Even the very best teachers can only do so much if parents do not get involved in their child s education. Fortunately, Charleston has both; the school thrives because it has excellent teachers and a tremendous amount of parental support. Since Charleston is located in what once was a small town, many native parents and teachers have known each other for many, many years, often having once attended school together themselves. To newcomers, it may seem clique-ish at first, however, every student, and any parent that chooses to be positively involved in their child s education, is always welcomed with open arms at Charleston. |
| 7/22/2008 | parent | I have a child currently attending Charleston. I am very pleased with his education and the attention he receives from his teachers. |
| 4/9/2008 | parent | Great school....if you have a big last name in town. Otherwise it is ok. Their scores are the best so they're doig something right! Constant rotation of principal's doen't say much forconsistancy. I'd give it a 6.5/10 |
| 1/7/2008 | parent | I have a child that goes to school here. I want everyone to know it is rated one of the best schools in the county. I have no complaints about the school at all. |
| 8/28/2007 | parent | This school is great. I have two children there now and one will be attending in two years. There is a lot of parent involvement and the teachers are great. They really care about the children! |
| 9/27/2005 | parent | This school is fabulous! I have had three children go through the Charleston system and all three have received an excellent education. I have not one bad thing to say about it except for the size of the playground. |
