| 8/1/2012 | parent | Admittedly, I have very high standards, but, I wanted so badly to be impressed with Santa Rosa Academy and I just wasn't. I experienced all three tracks with both of my children. I was particularly displeased with the White Track homeschool program. There are many better options if you want to homeschool. The curriculum at the school is average at best. Students are taught with a traditional approach which lacks cooperative learning or creativity. Resources are definitely limited here. The administration does a good job of maintaining order and they do seem to care about the kids, but, the children seem oddly joyless and unenthused about their school. I thought a charter school would have a strong sense of community and parent involvement, but, I had a better experience at the local public school. The administration wants the parents out of their way and they do not invite much parental involvement. The communication with parents is very poor. A lot of energy is going into opening the new school facility and this seems to be detracting from the day-to-day running of the schools. We won't be back. |
| 4/6/2012 | parent | iv been at this school for 4years .i'v seen it go from a wonderful place that really cares about the kids to if you are unsatafied with any thing the school's answer is may be this is not the place for child. i feel the school has changed its focus from a home school environment to a prep. school and now that there are so many kids wanting to get in the school does not care about any kid that might be having some difficulty .i'v had important emails go unanswered. teachers not follow throe with there commitments .i'm very disappointed with the new direction the school has taked not sure what .i'm going to do for next year. |
| 2/28/2012 | parent | I would not recomend there home schooling program! My son has gone from a 6 year Honoroll student to an average grad student. There set up seems to me more for kids who need to be babysat 2 days a week. Not to mention my childs ego has been crushed and now he does not like school! They disciplined first and ask questions later! My child has been in trouble for things he has not done and then been told he deserved it for not taddling and this is 7th grad mind you. I have had much better experience with the publc schools in Menifee! |
| 2/24/2012 | parent | We drive all the way from Murrieta to this school because we LOVE Santa Rosa!! As a public school teacher who has their Master's degree in Education, I can say that this school has the right vision of how education and character should be taught. The high level curriculum challenges students to be prepared for college. Teachers and administrators go above and beyond to make the children and families feel important. Our family highly recommends this school!!!..there is a reason the wait list is 1,100 students deep! |
| 2/22/2012 | other | This school is amazing. The teachers know what there doing. The Principal is one of the nicest people I know. I have seen a lot of parents talk horribly to the staff and the Principal. The reason why some people do good at public schools is because they give easier assignments. Santa Rosa actually tries to challenge the students. If you excel here, you know your smart. They are great with character, and they try to enforce. It's up to the students to get there work done, not the teachers. And if the students ask for help, they oblige and help them to the best of their ability. I recomend this school to everybody. |
| 2/8/2012 | parent | The principle at this school is rude to the students and likes to scare the students telling them they would do better at a different school. Instead of being understanding with a family she is very harsh and threatins to kick children out of the school. I cant say this about all the teachers, but one of the teachers at his school does not seem to want to help the student that struggles with an area of learning. The student dropped their greade below "c" so she required them them to go to after school tutoring. This is all fine and dandy but doesent teach much in tutoring just tell thems to finish their homework. She does not sit down with the student and show them what they are doing wrong . I thought that was what tutoring was for. |
| 11/8/2011 | other | Santa Rosa Academy is a very good school and I absolutely love it. My children have exceeded at this school. The teachers really care about your child and always are making sure that your child is doing great. If your child is getting a grade C or below then at Santa Rosa your child is required tutoring. I love this. I would recommend this school to everyone. |
| 10/27/2011 | parent | this is by far the worst charter school i have ever seen children attend to. they are always begging for money and the staff/principle(s) are horrible, and cant do half of their job right. |
| 9/12/2011 | parent | I am very satisfied with Santa Rosa Academy. They offer choices in education so parents can best decide how their individual student should be educated. This requires thoughtful consideration and hard work by the parent, so this school is not for everyone. However, if you want to be actively involved in your child's education, then Santa Rosa Academy is great school. |
| 9/3/2011 | parent | This is interesting...it seems that people either love Santa Rosa or are very dissapointed. We have had a very positive experience at this school. My children love their teachers and have been there a long time so they know how many good things have happened since becoming students there a few years ago. We are very happy. It isn't for everyone. Like with anything...it is what you bring to it that determines what you get out of it. The students and teachers have great relationships and the parent community is so involved. We will be here through the end of high school. We love Santa Rosa Academy. Yes, sometimes it takes a while to get to the right person for information, but we've experienced nothing but courtesy and care from the staff anytime we needed help.. I've seen parents behaving so poorly it makes you wonder why they are at the school that is committed to excellent character. Each time the staff responds as politely as possible. Sorry to hear the parent 's below opnion..we have not experienced that at all. |
| 9/1/2011 | parent | school is a typical charter ran by a uneducated principal. School plays favorites with staff and hires and fires all the time. Fires really good teachers and keeps the favorites. I am already very disappointed in this school this year ! I would never send a child here again |
| 8/25/2011 | parent | I am in agreement that this school is very unorganized, scary to see this. The staff seemed inept. I am a parent who is very involved in my children's education and progress. This school ended up being a huge disappointment. Assignments from the curriculum were unorganized. Horrible, being the fact they pride themselves on being prep a school. They seem to be lacking especially with high school students. There is no direction for their students and teachers seem overwhelmed with an already over crowded school that their staff can cannot accommodate. The track system they allocate is ineffective and brings about confusion for both students and staff. Research other Charters before thinking about this one. |
| 8/17/2011 | parent | The teachers and staff are exceptional. Students learn respect and positive character traits. They are learning what is required to be future leaders in society. I especially like the small atmosphere where each child is acknowledged and eventually known by name by the teachers and staff. Teachers are attentive to student's needs and are great role models. |
| 7/5/2011 | parent | My child attended this school and I was very unhappy with the ability of the staff to teach, anyone can teach at Santa Rosa if you have a BA degree. Yikes! I felt the school and teachers were very unprofessional, not all children are created equal, but Santa Rosa staff is unable to meet the demands of struggling students. Uniform school, I do feel the teachers anbd staff should follow the same uniform as the kids, teaching by example. Not the school for me, my chid is in public now and has excelled. I like charter schools but would NOT recommend Santa Rosa. VERY UNORGANIZED. |
| 5/11/2011 | other | Santa rosa is a great school. Completely satisfied with all of their tracks. full time (blue), part time (white), and homeschool (red). :) Parents are totally involved |
| 3/3/2011 | parent | I was quite disappointed with this school. Promises were made and not delivered as staff is very disorganized. Curriculum is outdated, and teachers are unprofessional. |
| 3/3/2011 | parent | Completely fell short of my expectations. Look somewhere else, there are many other, better options out there. |
| 1/20/2011 | parent | Good Teachers, Flexible programs. My daughter likes it even though she has to wear a uniform when she is on campus which is only 2 days a week anyway. |
| 1/19/2011 | other | I am trying to find out if you have to pay tuition to attend this school. Can someone advise. |
| 11/2/2010 | parent | SantaRosa is a wonderful school. I have three children that are lucky enough to attend and could'nt be more pleased. They are all a different learning level and SantaRosa meets all their needs. It makes learning for them and me a wonderful experience. My children love this school and this is a "parents dream"..The academic stardards are strong and are great for our future. |
| 10/11/2010 | parent | Absolutely phenomenal school. Highly recommend any parent with a child or children in Menifee district to attend information meeting to keep your options open. I would disagree with parent review that school is inattentive, as this has not been our personal experience. Administration and teachers are extremely encouraging, and attentive to each students individual needs. My children have attended various schools in the district, and this by far has been the absolute best. |
| 7/1/2010 | parent | Inattentive to child's needs. Son had IEP, which I had to chase admin. to set up therapies. Took 3 months after school start. Child was also falling behind. Teachers didn't communicate problem to me until grade came in. Was told they were small, therefore it was difficult for them to service. I was hoping that a smaller school with smaller class size would be a benefit. Child now thrives in public school. too bad, based on reviews I had high hopes. |
| 5/19/2010 | parent | I love Santa Rosa Academy because the teachers as well as the staff are so helpful and friendly. My daughter has learned so much since she has gone there. |
| 5/7/2010 | other | It is by far one of the best schools around. Teachers, staff to admins, cream of the crop. |
| 4/23/2010 | parent | They have a great education i and i like how they treat every student like it is their only student. |
| 4/22/2010 | other | Provides a good education. Teachers are friendly and helpful.I also approve of the dress code. I'm the great-grandfather of one of the students. |
| 4/22/2010 | other | Our great-grandchild is receiving a fine education. The teachers Merit our highest congratulations. Keep up the good work! |
| 4/21/2010 | parent | All of the staff love the students and the school and are dedicated to providing the very best education they possibly can. There is plenty of interaction and extracurricular activity to keep the students focused on and enjoying learning. |
| 3/4/2010 | parent | Our son recently transferred to SRA, and in less than a week, it was extremely evident that the teachers, atmosphere, and curriculum are top notch. This school incorporates character building which is so lacking in today's world. Our son amazes us daily with the knowledge that he comes home and shares with us as a first grader. Ms. Inigarida is truly wonderful, and is so caring, compassionate, and skilled at teaching the future leaders of America. We Love the Santa Rosa Academy!!! |
| 2/8/2010 | parent | Be careful! I didn't realize how far behind the children were there, especially in Math until I moved them to a better charter school! |
| 11/7/2009 | parent | awesome school. They teach the children about respect and responsibility. The teachers are of great quality and communication is wonderful. |
| 11/7/2009 | parent | Santa Rosa offers options to students who need a closer relationship with teachers that you don't find in larger schools. Teachers take a personal interest in each individual child. |
| 11/7/2009 | parent | The flexibility the scheduling offers as well as the way they work with families in such a supportive way! |
| 11/7/2009 | parent | Because Santa Rosa Has given my Daughter the freedom to express herself and become a gifted and bright indiviual! |
| 11/7/2009 | parent | I love that Santa Rosa offers education on a private school level with a public school price. |
| 11/7/2009 | parent | My Grand Daughter goes to this school. She scores well above the average on all state tests. Enjoys going to school. Loves her teachers and has many friends. This school has a great educational environment. Excellent parental participation. The children are well mannered. Teachers are accessible, helpful, and truly care about the students. California needs more charter school like this one. |

It IS NOT a slogan at this school, but a reality. |

| 10/3/2009 | parent | Santa Rosa offers a stimulating curriculum backed with character and integrity. The school has helped my son who was a struggling student that continued to fall through the cracks to become a successful student who now loves school and the challenges of studying subjects like Bio Medical Technology and Robotic Engineering as an eleventh grader. |
| 10/2/2009 | parent | I love Santa Rosa Academy because the teachers are really wonderful. I only know one student, but every year he is so excited and animated over the things he has learned in school that I am amazed. | 9/29/2009 | student | This school's morals and foundation is visibly wonderful and the staff takes great care in the success of their students. It is a rare breed of schooling in which important fundamentals are incorporated such as chivalry and respect, versus the basic public education schools that can't handle the amount of discipline their students need to become high class citizens who are happy and successful in the things they strive to do in their lives. |
| 9/29/2009 | other | Focused on student character development and academic success. Aims to develop the whole person. Friendly atmosphere. Offers several academic programs to suit the specific needs of students and their families, including full-time study, independent study, and on-line study. |

| 9/26/2009 | other | This school has done such a wonderful job teaching my grandchildern and involving the parents and grandparents if activities. They cover all subjects as well as behavior, manors and social skills. The teachers are patient and kind to with only positive reinforcement. I'm very proud that my grandchildern go to such a wonderful school. |
| 9/26/2009 | parent | I love that they are about integrity and instilling that in our kids and that we help work with the school to make it a good school. The teachers are great and the kids are awesome.. it is like a private school but it is not. |
| 9/25/2009 | parent | Very proud of the school. Excellent staff who care about the kids and their education and good old fashion values. |
| 9/25/2009 | other | Because of the tremendous flexibility and belief/support in the students this charter school offers, Lucas has just been bumped up to the 4th grade, and they'll work with him in the classroom and with me as his 'homeschool teacher' one-on-one. This (from what I understand) is fairly unheard of in the public school realm. |
| 9/25/2009 | parent | It goes above and beyond what I have seen in other schools, longer days and less recess time which means more school time. Every morning and afternoon, staff greets you at drop off and pick up. |

| 9/23/2009 | parent | My kids get up every morning are actually excited about going to school.....It has to be an awesome place for 3 kids to agree |
| 9/23/2009 | parent | I like the fact that the classes are limited to number of students, so that each student gets the attention they need. They are flexible, so that when a student is excelling, or if they are struggling, the appropriate needs are met. They are taking classes in Middle School, that they may or may not have available in other High Schools. |
| 9/23/2009 | parent | The class sizes are the right size and the teachers and staff are committed to helping every student. |

| 9/23/2009 | parent | I love Santa Rosa Acadamy because it is the closest thing there is to a private school w/o the big price tag. They do everything first class but on the cheap. I love the uniforms. The teachers are professional and expect the same from the students. It is a very small school so my child is not just a number on a piece of paper somewhere. Her teachers actually know who she is. Every teacher has an hour every day that the students can come to them for tutoring. In fact if any student is receiving a grade below a C in any class they are required to go to tutoring in that class until they have at least a C in that class. The staff of the school is very supportive. E-mail is used by all teachers and there is an on-line parent connect system to access your child's grades and assignments any time you want. Santa Rosa has a list of needs just like any other school but they do not require a ton of obnoxious fund raisers with unrealistic expectations. I really feel like I have a voice. If there is something I am confused about or don't really care for I can call the dean or the principal at any time and talk directly to him or her. My calls aren't screened or ignored. I feel we are all on the same team with the same goal in mind....to make Santa Rosa the best school possible so our kids can get the best education possible. I would and do recommend this school to anyone who's looking for a school. |
| 9/23/2009 | parent | After homeschooling my son for 2 years, Santa Rosa was the perfect choice to transition him to mainstream school. The environment is conducive to learning and friendly. My son loves his teachers and looks forward to going to school everyday. That in itself is a miracle and is a testimony to great teachers and staff at Santa Rosa. I wish I had the money to fund every thing the school needs because they certainly deserve it. I am proud that my son is a student at Santa Rosa and will continue to sing its praises. |
| 9/23/2009 | parent | The teachers are great and caring. They stay on top of communication between the school and the parents. |
| 9/23/2009 | teacher | Santa Rosa is an incredible place where children can learn and grow in both knowledge and character. I am proud to be able to be a part of this wonderful school! |
| 9/23/2009 | parent | Santa Rosa Academy is a unique program that truly meets the needs of the individual child. The curriculium is state mandated, but adjusted based on a child's needs and abilities. Parents as well as the students are part of a great educational family that works as a team. My children are learning Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts, PE as well as Character Development. My children are being prepared for a real future, not just social promotion. This innovative program and the staff deserve recognition as one of the best schools in the nation. |
| 9/23/2009 | parent | I like that they focus on education and not bending to outside political influence. |
| 9/23/2009 | parent | Santa Rosa has been the best thing that has ever happened to our family. My children have grown incredibly and have been in a relatively concern free environment. I LOVE the uniform policy and how education is the very first priority. The teachers are dedicated and wonderful, the Director Mrs. Badillo's vision of this school is amazing and as the years go by and we see it coming to fruition we are amazed at the outcome. Mr. Clevenger is an amazing part of the program and brings such life and energy to everything he touches. They make a great team and they both inspire our family and our children. |
| 9/23/2009 | parent | Because it is a great alternative to traditional public schools. More importantly, my kids love it. |
| 9/23/2009 | parent | My school has helped my special needs daughter believe in herself and although she is different, My school doesn't focus on her difference but on what she can achieve. My daughter grows at Santa Rosa Academy each day. |
| 6/16/2009 | parent | My daughter transfered out of SRA during her sophmore year and I only wished she had transferd sooner. I bought into the schools alternative education system and small class size but was amazed to find out how far behind my daughter was in her classes. In my opinion SRA is very disorganized and the high turnover of teachers for Spanish and Math contributed to my daughter falling behind. I was also disappointed in the sports program or rather the lack of a sports program. |
| 5/28/2009 | parent | Our children (4th and 6th graders) just finished their first year at SRA. For the past 7 years, we have sent our children to 3 different private schools in Temecula thinking the teachers, cirriculum and environment would be better at a private school. Boy, were we ever wrong. Luckily we found SRA, and this year has been the best experience we have had. There are many different programs they offer, all of which are very flexible and catered to meet the needs of each and every student. The staff is exceptional, always helpful, readily available, take parent feedback seriously, strick in discipline, and the teachers are accredited (something you really need to watch at private schools, as the teachers usually are not.) The school is also going through their accreditation process. My children just love it, and we, as parents, are truly impressed. |
| 4/23/2009 | parent | This is our first year at Santa Rosa and both my child and I LOVE it here. The moment you step on the campus you are greeted with genuine enthusiasm by the teachers and staff regardless if you attend here or not. We have attended private christian schools for many years and I can honestly say that Santa Rosa felt more of a private christian school then all the years we spent at one. There is no talk of christianity here, or any kind of belief but you feel it, you sense it. The morales of the Teachers, Staff and parents run high here. Every month a character development is focused on, and I compare it to 'The fruit of the Spirit' I beleive my child can receive an education from many schools in this area, but not with the care that Santa Rosa extends to my child. |
| 4/19/2009 | parent | Tis school is unlike any other school I know of. The children are really catered to so as to make sure that each is learning at the right pace and enjoying school. |
| 4/19/2009 | student | I am a student at this school and I love it. The only kids I know that had to leave were either very sad that they had to go or they were trouble makers that the school just wont put up with. They are very strict and you have to show respect to the staff but they also show respect to us. I didn't think I was going to like this school when I first started it but I love it! Everyone is friends with everyone. I have friends from every racial background. There are no cliques and it is nice to be at a school where everyone takes their schoolwork and homework seriously. I used to hate school until came here. This school only seems unorganized when you first start because it is so different that regular school. You just have to give it a chance. |
| 4/16/2009 | parent | We have loved having our children attend Santa Rosa Academy the past two years. We have children in both the two day a week program and the 5 day program. We love that our children are safe in small classes and are being taught in a caring environment that strill pushes them academically. They are planning to build there own site within a couple od years, but until then, we will gladly deal with where they are. The staff and parents working together have made a great environment for students, without all the bells and whistles. They focus on kids...being good, caring about others and learning and growing acaemically! Way to go Santa Rosa! |
| 4/16/2009 | parent | My sons have attended Santa Rosa Academy for the past 2 years. It has offered a wonderful, caring environment where the children can learn and develop with the innocence children are not often afforded today. The teachers are wonderful, the administration is always available and Character Values are the basis of the curriculum. The school is currently looking to build a permanent site. Our choice to school our children here is more about the one on one interaction, the focus of safe learning...much more than a fancy building. |
| 2/23/2009 | parent | I tried this school with expectations that iwould suit my child's needs. At the orientation, the staff will try to sell you a new, alternative school with a fresh perspective on learning. This didn't turn-out to be the case. When something is too good to be true, it usually is. The school did a poor job educating and helping the students reach their full potential. The school is not accredited, so please know this before you enroll your child. |
| 2/5/2009 | other | I was recently switched out of this school and was sent to Temescal Canyon High. Wow. I'm glad i was transferred when I was. I could not believe how far behind and ill prepared I was for Temescal. The teacher's at Santa Rosa take no control of their classes so the students who would actually like to learn, don't get to do that. The way they try to punish the kids is by treating them as elementary schoolers. The teachers are the ones to blame for this horrible unorganized school and for the teaching, or lack of, done. Before I went to this school I was a well above average student. Ever since my one semester there, I am behind in everything and am falling fast to below average. Please do not send your children here. They promised 'great acedemic achievements', and they certainly did not keep their promise. |
| 11/15/2008 | parent | Although Santa Rosa has had a rocky start, the teachers, staff and students are dedicated to the future of the school. This school is doing so much with the little money they get as compared to the traditional schools. My child is in her 10th grade and will be starting her 11th grade year this Jan. She will also be attending collage at the same time. Through Santa Rosa AND her HARD work she will not only graduate early, but she will be very close to finishing her Associates degree at the same time. Santa Rosa allows your child to work at the pace that works best for them, and they hold ALL the students accountable for their actions, good luck finding that at the traditional schools. Santa Rosa is definitely a school to look in to. |
| 11/2/2008 | parent | This school is terrible do not send your kids here. It will ruin there life. They will have a terrible experience with friends and some of the teachers are absolutely horrible. |
| 7/14/2008 | student | I absolutely ADORE this school. It may be small, but you've got to start somewhere. The Dean is very concerned about the well being and the future of each student. Staff in the front office are genuinely friendly and helpful. I am going in to my third year attending the academy and I couldn't be happier anywhere else. This school offers a close, friendly, and intimate environment which enables teachers and pupils to interact more positively with eachother. Santa Rosa has improved drastically since even last year and is only getting better. Each of my teachers has at least a masters degree in two subjects, and some are P.H.D. s. I am going in to my junior year and am ecstatic that I will be graduating though the Santa Rosa Academy. This coming up school year they are adding about 100 more students to the 5 day a week program. |
| 4/21/2008 | parent | My friend introduced me to the school and I am so greatful she did. My daughter has had a wonderful kindergarten experience. The teachers and staff have always been kind and helpful. We have always gotten the help we need and questions answered when we needed it. My daughter attends the school 2 days a week and does her work at home the other 3 days. All the work is provided for us therefore making it very easy to teach my child at home. And allow her to do many more extracurricular activites than if she attended a traditional school. I love that the parents have to be a active part of there child's education. My daughter has looked forward to everyday she attends school. I have only one regret, that I must move this summer and pull my daughter out of such a wonderful program. |
| 4/19/2008 | parent | This school has been so good for my children. The staff is caring and the principal and deans take the time to listen to the students. The school buildings are small, and there is no playground yet. But, the plan to move to a bigger school in a few years. Until then, I plan to keep my children here anyway. They are learning much more than they would at a regular school about how to be a good person, how to be respectful and how to be responsible. I like that the school is K-12. It makes it feel much more t like a small private school. I wish them continued success and growth. We will be a part of it for a very long time. |
| 4/18/2008 | student | I'm a former student of Santa Rosa Academy. I absolutely loved this school and was sad when I had to move. The teachers were great and the students were generally polite and well behaved. |
| 10/18/2007 | parent | WOW! What a difference. My daughter has completely turned around, thanks to Santa Rosa. I have seen her transform from an OK student (which was fine with other schools) to a confident, strong learner. Her teachers (3rd and 4th grade) have done nothing but encourage her and challenge her to her potential. At first it was very hard and I thought the work was to hard for her but she kept going and thrived. The teachers and staff were there for her 100% of the way. The Booster club is wonderful. The activities are great this year! |
| 9/22/2007 | parent | This school is highly unorganized. The teachers are average to good, but at times parents are as lost as the rest of the staff. The site is not up to par with the traditional schools, as it is a storefront shopping center. I would not send my child here as there is little opportunity at this school. |
| 5/22/2007 | parent | I am so grateful to have a school like Santa Rosa. My children are accountable and getting an acceptional education. Public schools are overcrowed and out of control. Private school is just too expensive. My children are respected and cared about. How many parents can say that! |
| 5/16/2007 | parent | My daughter started kindergarten at Santa Rosa Academy half way through the school year-I am SO thankful that this school was available for her to attend. Comparing her work from her other public school (which has a high rating)to this school I have to say that she is learning far more at this school than the other one. The work is being taught in a better way and my daughter is now retaining far more of the information given to her. I rated lower on extracurricular activities only because they don't have as many as some schools...when you are homeschooling 3 of the 5 days the parent is able to fill that time as they see fit...we do not need to always depend on the schools to provide those activities. This school is wonderful and is for students whose parents want an active role in their child's education. |
| 12/14/2006 | parent | I would not send any child or young adult to this school. Although, it is only a two day school site program, I am disappointed with the disorganization of curriculum, staff, and administration. |
