10/10/2010parentBoth my kids have gone or are going to this school. It's been great school.
9/22/2010parentI moved to Mission Viejo just so my children could go to this school. For a public school it has an amazing number, and variety of activities, and programs. There is literally something for everyone. MVHS has a fantastic music program. It has an impressive academic record and was the first public high school in the region to offer an IB program. My son is a sophomore now and my daughter is a senior and not a day has gone by that I regret sending them to this school and they love it as well.
8/9/2009studentat this high school i have some advise if your going to go here: being your self is the worst advice i can give you. be fake and ull fit it like the crown jewels.
7/18/2008parentA great public high school for academics, sports, extracurricular activities. There is positive pressure to succeed and the counselors do a good job of keeping the students on track with the right mix of classes. As with many public schools, it is caught up in the State of CA budget crisis, which can impact the breadth of classes/programs offered.
1/29/2007parentMission Viejo high school has excellent, diverse offerings for students with widely varying interests. Among the best programs are the IB Diploma, marching band, football, drama, the farm and many others. These programs keep teens interested in going to school.
9/13/2006studentI Love Mission Viejo high school! The teachers are tough, but great. I am a freshman, and one of my favoirte teachers is Mr. Smith for geography. Mission is a great school and very safe environment. I would reccomend it for anyone! Go Diablos!
9/8/2006parentMy son graduated from Mission in '05, and is beginning his 2nd year at Harvard. Our experience with the school, from the Principle, the Humanities courses, IB, and athletics was outstanding. He feels like he was well-prepared for the Ivy League. I currently have 2 other children there..and feel like there is a variety of opportunities for all levels of student, as well as the wide variety of clubs and programs.
6/2/2006studentThis school has wonderful academic programs. At schools such as Trabuco Hills High school, the science program is not nearly as accelerated. My son is very interested in science, especially physics and chemistry, and this causes him great joy. At Mission Viejo High School, you can choose between four AP science classes, two AP math classes, and a number of AP history and english classes. At Trabuco, they only have 3 AP science classes (which can only be taken during your senior year, while at Mission Viejo you can take them in your Junior AND Senior years) and one AP math class. Extracurricular activites are also in abundance, but parent involvement could be better.
3/5/2006parentAs a freshman, my child has been given many opportunities at this school. The academics, especially the advanced classes, have been exactly what he needed. The music program is outstanding. The school is widely known in the area for it's great sports programs, but that is not all that it offers: AP/honors classes, IB program, and E-core classes(electronic learning classes). The students at this school are accepting of all students, wether they are smart, athletic, musical, or average students trying to get through high school. I would reccomend this school to anyone moving into the area. I would reccomend this school district, Saddleback Valley Unified School District, SVUSD.
3/2/2006parentThis is a great school. The academics are great also.
2/27/2006former studentOutstanding music and drama programs - top notch instruction that teaches the art and the discipline needed to exceed. Great teachers. Parent involvement is great within the different sports/arts programs. No participation really at a higher level.
2/23/2006parentThis is an excellent school, great athletics department and great education
2/3/2006administratorOutstanding International Baccalaureate program. Strong Model U.N. tradition. Athletic powerhouse, particularly in football. Great marching band. School's modernization is just being completed, so facilities are very nice. The school is large enough so that it features something for everyone. Even has a small farm on campus, complete with animals. There is a lot of opportunity at Mission--but on't expect a lot of guidance since the school has only two counselors, and I have not been pleased with their service and guidance. I chose my house because it was near this school, though, and I'm glad I did.
5/17/2005teacherMission Viejo High School is a very highly academic school. They have a varity of AP cources and also have a IB program. They are also a very competative sports high school. Parent involement is extremely high at this school for clubs to sports.
3/31/2005parentAcademic programs are excellent and comprehensive. Outstanding extracurricular activites including involvement in the community. There is an outstanding humanities class run by Dr. Jerry Chris. Prepares students for top colleges.
2/9/2005parentMission Viejo High is overall a fantastic school with many opportunities for their students, however, the clique factor and materialism of many students makes it almost impossible to make new friends or to be involved.
5/19/2004studentMVHS (mission viejo high school) has a great atmophere which is very important in the learning process. all the teacher at MVHS are all willing to work with the students to achieve the best grade they can. MVHS also offers and automotive technology class which is excellant with Mr. Ken Welch as the intructer who is ASE certified and a great teacher, he teaches the students all about cars in a fun safe enviroment. we have a great student body and great programs, MVHS is a fantastic school to enroll in, it is the best school you will find in southern california public schools.
