| 8/27/2012 | teacher | In response to the post of August 6, 2012: We have had lower enrollment recently, which has coincided with the current economic downturn, however, we have seen a turn around in enrollments this summer and look forward to continued growth. All of our teachers have bachelors degrees in Education and are Montessori trained. Additionally, all but one teacher have Masters degrees as well. Administrative responsibilities are well covered by an educator with a Masters degree in Education, as well as,19 years experience with our school. Additionally, this person is supported by an office administrator with a Masters degree in education, 25 years adminstrative experience (15 in Human Resources). We invite all prospective parents to visit, see our school, talk with our educators and administrative staff and come to your own conclusions. We welcome face to face conversations with the parent posting the August 6, 2012 review. |
| 8/6/2012 | parent | What has happened to this school? Only three classrooms now. All of the best teachers are gone. The principal has given some of the administration responsibilityto her early childhood teacher who hasn't a clue about what to do to help this school. Too bad. It was a very goodschool once. Those days are gone. |
| 8/27/2011 | parent | Teachers are attentive to the greatest screamer and favorite. Class room is chaotic especially occupied with one "special" child. I don't mean handicap but spoiled. Prices are unreasonable. Do not cater to parents who work. After school hours fees are outrageous. No team sports. |
| 6/21/2010 | parent | Hi My 31/2 old girl has been going there for a couple of months and she loves it.She has learnt to much in afew months that I am amazed. The teachers are wonderful and I agree the snacks isn't that great but the education they provide is really really good. She loves her school and I am very very happy with her progress. |
| 2/13/2010 | parent | The teachers and teachers aids are really great. They are very attentive and dedicated to the children in their classrooms. I really appreciate the type of individual study for the children, which is the backbone for the montessori philosophy. |
| 1/24/2010 | parent | I have nothing but good things to say about this school. Excellent teachers who care very much. The best program that helps children learn how to learn. |
| 1/13/2010 | parent | Casa has been a great school for my three year old. The progress she has made this year is tremendous. So much care and one on one time! |
| 7/22/2009 | parent | My children love Casa Montessori. The teachers are eminently qualified and treat the children as if they were their own. Both my children have thrived there; I am delighted with the progress they have made. I highly recommend this school; I think it is one of the best preschools in Southern California. |
| 6/22/2009 | parent | My child has been as Casa Montessori School for 5 years. Although I agree that the administration is behind the times and the school needs to be updated, I also am extremely plesed with the progress my child has made. The Montessori method of teaching is very effective and my child's progress has exceeded my expectations. |

| 5/15/2009 | parent | Archaic views of the owner of the school will surely affect the future of Casa. Teachers are wonderful and have been there for many years but feel they are under appreciated. When that is the case then the moral goes down. So much space underused. The diversity is wonderful and that is truly the only thing I appreciated. Over priced for what they offer. Parents were bringing in snack because then it was saltine crackers and juice. Paid lunch was fast food. |
| 4/29/2009 | parent | I have basic pro's & con's about this school. I have 2 children there and we are rounding the end of our 2nd yr at the school. PROS: Amazing cultural diversity, Good teachers, Beautiful campus, Parents that are committed and care about their children's education, some after school activities like Chess,Dance & Karate, electives during school day with some ok teachers like computers, Spanish, music & kenisiology...CONS: NO sibling discount, HUGE lack of communication between some teachers & parents, No PTA, No school nurse, school provided snack consists of saltine crackers & juice, Hot lunch that is offered is not healthy, enrollment for upper grades is too low for us to stay, no organized sports, a brand new building that is not in use. These are just some of the important things to me and my family. I would encourage anyone to visit the school & ask alot of questions! |
| 3/17/2009 | parent | When I read the reviews of certain parents I just couldn't believe it. Casa is a great montessori school. If it wasn't to her principal and the team of teachers that it has the school will fall apart. The principal has been there for so long and she knows exactly what is the best for the school. Some parents want just to take over things and do changes that are convenient to them but not others.I would recommend any parent who is looking for a great motessori school to pay a vistit to casa montessori. My children loves going there and we're not planning to leave until they graduate from there. |
| 3/11/2009 | parent | If academics is your bottom line then this school might be for you. The teachers are truly great. The administration and principal leave A LOT to be desired. The level of communication between the administration and parents is laughable. The principal is someone who doesn't believe in outside input and in the end that is one big reason why the school suffers. There is no PTA, no real way for available and eager parents to really be involved. The school is so small it should feel like a family, but it is not the case and it saddens me to say so. This is not a 21st century school. There is no recycling program, there is no real emergency protocol, there is a lot missing. Great kids, great teachers with an archaic system in place and a principal who likes it that way. Unfortunately she'd rather lose students than change anything. |
| 3/5/2009 | parent | This school has great teachers, but that's all. The director refuses to have any open communinications w/the parents, or welcome any involvement other than class room parties. There is no sibling discount at in these troubling times, and the tuition rates are going up at that. Communications between the teachers and the administrative staff does not exist. Parent must individually goto the teacher, the director and the administrative staff if you want something done. |
| 11/17/2008 | parent | Incredible potential. Never in my life have I seen such awesome diversity. The teachers are pretty wonderful, and if it weren't for them we would have left long ago. There is no real leadership. The principal refuses to grow and change with the times, sticking to archaic philosophies that no longer apply and the school suffers because of it. She does not welcome parental involvement aside from the occasional class party. It feels as though she would rather run the school into the ground than consider new ideas that could benefit everyone. No longer feels like she has the best interest of the kids at heart. What worked for the school thirty years ago no longer works but the principal refuses to acknowledge it. Communication between the administration and parents sucks. Has become a very frustrating environment. |
| 1/19/2006 | parent | I have two children here and we love the school. The level of curriculum is significantly more advanced than at other private schools. They don't offer the frills of some of the more expensive private schools, but at half the price it is an excellent value. |
| 1/9/2006 | parent | Not quite impress with their pre-k program. There is no or little individual attention given when class size is 25 students to 1 teacher and 1 teacher's aid. The emphasis on creativity and art is at a very superfacial level. Parent interaction and involvement is somewhat restricted for specific events only...ie halloween, thanksgiving. x-mas party. |
| 11/22/2005 | former student | Was a good school before until the exodus of teachers. Only 1 good teacher in uppergrades. Used to be good in lower grades, but teachers seem burnt out and not as committed. Administration is not supportive of parents. |
| 4/6/2005 | parent | Casa Montessori starts from pre-school and goes up to 6th grade. My son currently attends Kindergarten there and he really enjoys going to school. The teachers are great and the ratio of teachers to students is about 9:1 in his class. He's able to learn according his pace. If a child is advanced in certain area i.e. math, the child can accerlate to the next level. The school also offers music and spanish beginning in Kindergarten. It's a school well worth looking into. |
