| 10/18/2010 | teacher | Great school. We do everything we can to make sure all students are successful. Lots of activities for students to do during the year. |
| 9/22/2007 | parent | My oldest attended this school for two years and we were very sad to leave because of the new boundaries. Our experience at Perris Elementary was great. We loved it! The ladies at the office were so nice; I did not have anybody be rude to me there. The opportunity to serve in the SSC was great and I felt we had great leadership. The teachers that we had were excellent (my child was doing multiplication at the end of first grade) I miss the atmosphere at this school and will always be grateful for the wonderful experience we had there. I heard that the new programs for parent involvement were having good results. |
| 5/20/2006 | teacher | This is a great school to be associated with. There is a caring staff who really try their hardest to make the students into leaders. |
| 6/20/2003 | | There is excellent leadership at this school, with a principal who is very involved with the children. New teachers who have been hired in the past couple of years have brought up the level of teacher quality. My daughters' teacher was brand new this year and brought some excellent new ideas for teaching the children and involving parents in their childrens' education. My daughter found 3rd grade math challenging, and was struggling. When I spoke with her teacher, she gave me some suggestions for things we could do at home to make her learning easier. This paid off and she's now doing very well and is confident about math. The teacher made herself available to parents and communicated in a class bulletin each week, which was included in the children's homework packet. This kept me aware of ongoings in the classroom, as well as at the school, in general. Unfortunately, it seems that parent involvement is very low at this school. The PTA is in jeopardy of disbanding due to lack of interest. It has been run, almost exclusively by the school staff, and although they have done an excellent job, there is almost no parent involvement. The PTA raised funds for educational field trips, holding rummage sales and a school halloween carnival this year, but it seems there is only so much the staff can do without the parents pitching in and involving themselves. My take on this school is this: if you will become involved and work with your child's teacher and the staff at Perris Elementary School, your child can do very well. My daughter is performing at an advanced level in all subjects. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts because of the California budget crisis, many activities have been cut. This is unfortunate, and I trust that these programs will again be offered when there is state funding available. |
