| 9/24/2012 | parent | I took my children out because I found that they were very behind in math compared to to the public schools in the surrounding area. The textbooks that they are using are old. The social studies material are also incorrect with wording. Also, I found that the fourth grade teacher in particular was very lazy and does the bare minimum. I have tried to communicate with her and she changes the topic when you ask her a a direct question. I will say that the school does emphasize on respect which is a plus. But overall it not worth the price of the tuition. |

Tuition price is ok but then you pay for more tshirts and "special" lunches that it adds up. need to update their environment, very old school. |
| 6/22/2012 | parent | My son just completed first grade at St. Hilary school, he has been at this school since kindergarten. As a parent I feel he is being challenged academically, he has learned so much at this school. I personally liked his kindergarten teacher, she is friendly and is wonderful with her students. My child's first grade teacher was awesome she expects a lot from her students and was always very good about answering any questions I had. We will be enrolling our younger son in their transitional kindergarten program this coming school year. I look forward to seeing my children grow at this school. |
| 10/10/2011 | other | Biggest MISTAKE OF MY LIFE....I so regret putting my son in the school....the comment about the kindergarten teacher is way too kind. She is extremely rude never says Hello or even smiles to the parents, makes me wonder how she treats her students. And yes on too many free dress days if I wanted free dress I would of put my son in public school. This school is very behind on there academics...what a shame.....all teachers should have degrees...How can we expect them to educate our kids when they don't have good education. I want my money back........ |
| 9/10/2011 | parent | My Daughter & Nieces and Nephew attend St Hilary's & we all love this school. My daughter is challenged everyday and she always seems to be one more step ahead of other kids we know that attend public schools. I love how grades are important as well as parent involvement in the child & school. Children are very disciplined and are taught to respect everyon and grow in God's love. I feel my daughter is not ready for the "real world" and I like that she is not exposed to those kinds of elements and is around children like her with that are raised with the same values as the ones her family and I teach her. I, myself couldnt ask for a more loving staff or better school! As long as they continue to teach; we will have our growing family as part of this school family for years to come. |
| 6/10/2011 | parent | I read most of the positive comments written by the individuals below. It's unfortunate that it's being called "great school" because it's friendly, community, family oriented. The "great" is never mentioned for the challanging academics, which should be the most important aspect in todays world. I took my child out of this school because it was important for my child to truly grow and be challanged with the times. Need teachers with Eduction and a private school should not be an excuse to not need it. The new school all teachers are degreed. |
| 5/17/2011 | parent | Its ok. The teachers teach well, but the only teacher I had a problem with was the 8th grade teacher. She would teach but my daughter told me she was unfair. The tuition is ok in price, but they hold too many fundraisers that are pointless and mandetory. They take a lot of your money and keep takeing it each year. But the religous educationd is very good. My daughter learned so much in religon and they go to church twice a week which is good. But all in all I didt really like the school, I don't really recomend it |
| 3/23/2010 | parent | My 21 yr. old daughter graduated from this school and is on her way to medical school, and I give this wonderful school some credit for her goals in life, her passion for studying. The teachers at this school were always challenging her mind. She loved this school and made some life long friends. I have another daughter that attends this school currently and she loves her school. I'm glad I choose Catholic school for my children, especially St Hilary, I have good kids thanks to the core values instilled by this school. Thank you St Hilary. |
| 2/23/2010 | parent | This school will grow on you in time. The Kindergarten teacher is kind of dry. She doesn't really seem enthusiastic. You will begin to like it as your child advances to a higher grade. Not sure why, but this school has a lot of free dress days, half days are every other week and there are more 'No School days'. The principal also sends home a weekly letter that can use some tact and professionalism in preparing. Also, they do not have any springs sports (Baseball or Softball), and they do not have a Christmas program or show. They recently got a lunch program and after school care, which helped. |

| 8/20/2008 | parent | I would not recommend this school to anyone. I pulled my son out of this school after learning that television and DVDs were being used during instructional time. I did speak to the administrator and unfortunately she did not resolve the problem. Apparently I was the only concerned kindergarten parent. I was blown away to hear and see so many parents involved at the school and yet no one seemed to care that television and DVDs were being used in the kindergarten classroom as early as the first week of school. My son was happy at this school. Which child wouldn't if he/she got to see movies in class every week. I was new to the neighborhood and to St. Hilary parish and really liked the friendly school environment. Unfortunately the academic aspect of the school is not challenging or appropriate in todays world. |

The teaching methods are challenging rewarding and very well received by my kids.Having grown up in this area and attending some of the local public schools, I would not put my children any where else than St. Hilary, there is a sence of community among all who attend or are associated with this school and they teach the kind of old school values that are necessary for life in todays demanding, confussing world. |
| 1/14/2004 | parent | My child has been attending St Hilary since Kindergarten. The school benefits from lots of parent involvement as well as strong support from the community. The classes are small which makes learning a better experience for my child. Religion is incorporated into the school curriculum, and the teachers are knowledgeable and passionate. The atmosphere at this school is very friendly and family oriented. The school stresses parent involvement in your child education. This allows you to see what kind of things your child is learning in school. Overall St Hilary is a good school. |
