| 8/16/2011 | parent | This school is amazing! I have had amazing teachers for the past 5 years that my kids have gone here. The parents are so involved and supportive, the principal is amazing. The extracurricular after school programs are fantastic. The teachers truly care about the education of our children and pushing them to be better students and polite children who also look out for their peers and friends. |
| 5/20/2011 | parent | This school is amazing. It is very diverse, and the teachers are wonderful and caring. My daughter who is in 1st grade has grown so much in the past year academically and emotionally due in most part to the dedication of the teachers and the principal. The school also has a great after-school enrichment program. |
| 2/22/2011 | parent | My child's fifth grade teacher is too rough and strict on her. She really wants to switch teachers. Every other teacher that she had were excellent. Don't try to get room 25. It's just too rough on children. |
| 10/9/2010 | parent | great kids taught by wonderful teachers brought up by amazing parents!!! |
| 9/19/2010 | parent | I have 2 children in PHE, and every year have remarked that they are so lucky to be students here. Excellent teachers and administration. They both love school and excel on test scores, due in part, to the great teachers! Most important, they have a love for learning and are surrounded by great kids! PHE is truly a public school - there are kids from a wide variety of backgrounds. The parent support is outstanding, and is backed by thousand of dollars every year in donations - which goes right to academics! |
| 7/17/2010 | other | Racism and religious-bias galore. Only place your child in this school if you are utterly careful, as bullying is encouraged through none-intervention. This school is somewhat professional and tends to be sub-par. Youve been informed, so take this into mind when placing your child in this facility. |
| 4/24/2010 | parent | Principal is excellent. Always puts the school and the children first. The teachers are excellent, they sacrafice a lot for their kids and their classrooms. The attitude there is to treat others with respect, and there is no tolerance otherwise. I love this school, and I'm grateful that my child attends here. |
| 10/21/2008 | parent | I love the parent involvement. Great teachers low turnover. |
| 9/18/2006 | parent | Great school for kindergarten thru 3rd grade. Teachers are caring and assessable. Beware of very large class sizes in the 4th and 5th grades. |
| 5/16/2006 | parent | My daughter has a wonderful kindergaten teacher. She not teaches not only academics but respect and responsibility. |
| 3/16/2006 | parent | My daughter is in 1st grade and my son will enter kindergarten next year. Both of my daughter's teachers have been outstanding. The parent involvement is wonderful and there is a sincere feeling of partnership b/w parents and staff. There is a foundation that raises money to support any budget cuts. Facilities are not the best but are undergoing some major improvement right now. |
| 1/12/2006 | parent | I could not be happier with PHE. The teachers have shown an unusual degree of compassion, professionalism and follow up. For example, the second grade teacher who helped my daughter through some issues has continued to check on her and confer with her teachers up to fifth grade. The school is on the upswing on all fronts. I have also had teachers who transferred within the district tell me that they cannot believe the level of parent involvement, claiming that it far surpasses what they have seen elsewhere. The only thing I wish it has is a broader choice of extracurricular activities. That is pretty sparse. But the important thing: I recommend it without reservation. I love the place. |
| 5/25/2005 | parent | My daughter was a kindergartener at PHE this year. I was very impressed with the involvement of the other parents. There are a few volunteers that give hours and hours and hours, but then there are also lots of parents who help out to pitch in on a smaller scale. It's very impressive. They have fun traditions at PHE. Carnoween was great fun and a great fundraiser. My daughter loved movie night. The principal is fantastic--a real go-getter. The children love him and he is highly committed to seeing the school achieve success. My daughter's teacher is wonderful. I don't know how you could find a better personality for a kindergarten teacher. I think all these positives make up for the negative of the aging school facilities and dilapidated library books. The kindergarten does seem to have plenty of money for art supplies and worksheets. |
| 3/25/2005 | parent | We have had an amazing experience at PHE. The parent involvement and dedicated teachers really make the difference. PHE is a 'California Distinguished School' for a very good reason. After 6 years at PHE, we have had only one teacher who was in my opinion subpar and inexperienced. The other teachers where experienced, dedicated and committed. We love PHE. |
| 8/2/2004 | parent | Only been attending PHE for one year. Really enjoy it and seem like a great school so far. |
| 4/1/2004 | parent | The dedication of the teachers has been fantastic. Their dedication to the success of all children is apparent day in and day out. Class sizes also support a great learning environment. |
| 1/6/2004 | parent | This is an excellent school. The teachers are dedicated. The Parent involvement is very high. |
