| 7/13/2011 | parent | St Joseph School of Redding, CA. is an excellent school! My wife and I have sent two of our boys through St Joseph School and we plan on sending two more as soon as they are old enough. The teachers are friendly, dedicated and always available to help the students and guide the parents when necessary. Contact with the teachers has always been easy as they have provided home phone numbers and email addresses. If my wife or I are not available to care for our children the next best option is the Teachers and Staff of St Joseph School. Before and After school care is great as it is offered very early in the morning and into the evening. The school also offers successful sports programs which include Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Cross Country, Track and others. Parental involvement, which is always necessary in a successful school program, is phenomenal! I have never met a more dedicated group of parents in my life. Contrary to what the poster from 2004 said I have seen no catering to the wealthy parents. The school bends over backwards to make everyone feel welcome and needed. |
| 10/3/2009 | parent | It is a family! The children are taught with respect and so learn to respect each other and adults. The parents are very much involved too. The childrens are learning all of the subjects and have wonderful sports programs, this school has everything a large school has and more. |
| 2/2/2008 | parent | This school is excellent for every grade K-8. Our children have had every teacher at the school and they are wonderful. The teachers and administration are encouraging, creative, maintain great classroom control in a loving enviroment, and maintain high standards while helping and encouraging those who have special needs! The families and parents are also wonderful and create a loving and supportive community for all children. St. Joseph School is an absolute blessing in our community. |
| 9/27/2006 | administrator | The review that said that St. Joe's is a school for families with money is unfortunate. I'm not bias either way, but I do know that this school, like all Catholic schools give away tuition assistance dollars each and every year - many families need that money to send their child. Over 60-70 % receive some form of assistance as is indicative to most Catholic schools nationwide. Too bad that this parent did not feel welcome, but it does take two to 'tango' in the partnership of educating our children! |
| 2/8/2006 | parent | The academic program of this school is stellar. Our fourth, fifth and sixth grade excelled above and beyond on the standardized testing. There is a true sense of caring and community. The teachers and principal are accessible at all times, and you can be sure regardless of which grade your child is in, the Kindergarten teacher all the way up to the sixth grade teacher will know his/her name. You can't get that in a public school. The music program is awesome. The music teacher is a dedicated professional who can inspire our children to reach for the stars. We have an impressive play once a year for the public in addition to several plays done by each grade. The level of parent involvement is as involved as you would like. The more the better. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants a safe loving nurturing enviroment for their child. |
| 6/4/2005 | parent | This is a wonderful, wholesome environment for any child. Awesome teachers through at least 3rd grade. Outstanding music program. High academic standards, and a really good catholic education. The kids are all very, very nice. The parents are always around (most of them). There is a lot of parental involvement, which the school encourages. Nice, established campus. Very safe feel. Church is right across the street. Most classes are typically larger than 20 kids though. After school care is provided on site. |
| 2/17/2005 | parent | Excellent. Good Food. Wonderful staff. Secure. |
| 8/16/2004 | parent | Educational part of this school is pretty good. However, my child was there for 3 yrs and the principal never introduced himself to me and is not very active with the parents unless they had a lot of monetary and/or time donations to give. Majority of parents are unfriendly. They make you and your child feel unwelcome. Of course that isn't necesarily the school's fault, but when paying a hefty tuition, I want to feel equal. The teachers for the most part were helpful to the students but as far as the atmosphere, it was maybe a 3/10. Bottom line, if you are not extremely wealthy, I would not reccommend this school. It is strictly for people with money, not those who want their child to have a good catholic education. |
