| 9/9/2011 | teacher | Whoever rated this school on May 1 and April 18 must be speaking of another St. Patrick School. I have worked at many school before settling at St. Patrick School in Rodeo, and let me tell you it is the best place for a teacher to work. The principal is warm and friendly and has an open door policy for teachers, parents, and students. She is supportive of her staff and encourages us to improve our teaching each and every day. The teacher turnover rate is low and teachers have only left the school in the past 5 years because of retirement, moving out of the area, pregnancy, graduate school, and/or receiving higher positions at other schools. I would not want to work anywhere else! |
| 5/27/2011 | other | I'm actually a student currently attending Saint Patrick School. I graduate later today, and I have absolutely no regrets. I have been taught well to become a Faith Filled Person of God, Life Long Learner, and a Person of Service. I disagree with all of the reviews below that state the principal is rather "snobbish" or "rude." She just happens to be one of the nicest people I know, and my mother agrees. All the staff is considerate towards the students, and every teacher is willing to help their student as best as they can, and succeed. |
| 5/1/2011 | parent | This school is not worth the expense. The staff is very rude and irresponsible. It may be a private school but it is not very good. My son's grades are Cs and Bs here and there all of the time. I switched him to a public school because this school was not worth it. |
| 4/18/2011 | parent | The principal is hot and cold.Because of this the staff changes alot each year. She is missing good feelings toward students and staff . I have seen alot of hurt because of her attitude. Father Larry does nothing to stop this. My child is no longer at this school. I have had better treatment at the public school. All they need to do is run the school with the golden rule. I would love to see loving, happy children and staff. |
| 2/11/2011 | other | I have seen the changes over the years, being a graduate, mother of 3 graduates, and grandmother of 3 graduates. My children graduated from Catholic High School in the area and went on to college. All 3 have became professionals in their field. I have never regretted paying for a great education that started at St. Patrick School. |
| 2/7/2011 | parent | My daughter has been going to St. Patrick for 5 years and we love the school, the teachers and the total family feel! There are many opportunities to participate to get your parent hours in and be involved. |
| 2/7/2011 | parent | The educational opportunities are excellent! We love the diversity and warm, supportive environment St. Pat's provides to their students, teachers and families. |
| 10/11/2009 | student | I've attended this school all my life, and found it very rewarding. Not only have I received an understandable, if not excellent, education, but I find that the area is very pleasant. It is located in the cozy Rodeo, so you get to know all of the community. They help us understand that we're lucky to be able to attend a school where they care about us and learn about how to give back. Lately, we've been working on fundraisers for the Ondoy victims in the Philippines. Sure, the place may seem strict, over-ruled, obsessive, conceited and the such, but think about it. My parents are paying almost $1500 a month for me to go here. (I have a sister attending as well.) The teachers help us appreciate the fact that they're out working nearly everyday and paying for OUR education. I'm happy that the faculty cares. |
| 10/11/2009 | parent | I enjoy how the school puts our money to good use. They recently upgraded the school laptops so that my children (as well as others) can receive the best education possible. Yes, I do despise the fact that the refinery is only a short drive away, but think about it: the refinery was there AFTER the school was built. |
| 9/14/2008 | parent | I've met with the principal and the teachers who have problems with my son.(I was deeply touched how they handled the different issues and to remedy them as soon as possible. I came from a catholic school too all throughout my life and I can tell the difference. This school is one of the best. |
| 8/21/2008 | parent | This school has way to many teachers coming and going every year. The class sizes are to large over 35 kids per class for a private school you would think they would have 2 classes per grade, as much as they charge per year. My kids are attending a new school this year!!!! |
| 6/5/2008 | parent | I must agree that Principal is rather snobbish, unapproachable, and do not want to hear any parent's complaints about some teachers' mistakes! Every year, about 4-6 great old time teachers leave because of not getting along with Principal & maybe even father Larry. Too much polotics and here, it's all about the money!!! |
| 7/22/2007 | parent | The school as a whole is wonderful! The principal has brought in computers, pe, music, and art. She is very fair and loves our kids. Father Larry is a great father to all of us especially the children. Homework is a lot sometimes. I send my children to this school for a great education and homework is part of it. Some parents even enjoy volunteering at the school. I know I do. |
| 7/12/2007 | parent | My daughter attends St. Patrick's School . I think it is a positive environment for the kids . Safety is a prioirity at the school . I like Father Larry and how he positively accepts all faiths and is not a judge of others . I like how he watches over the kids and is truly what a Father should be . |
| 4/8/2007 | parent | Principal is unapproachable regarding specific questions about schools' test scores. We found the environment too strict, almost militant, for both parents and students. Too much homework. Staff turnover is constant. We also found the refineries looming in the background to be unsettling. |
| 1/17/2006 | parent | Very caring community of kids and faculty. Each teacher has his/her own unique attribute to bring to the table. Great English teacher at this school. Principal a little strict. |
