10/7/2012parentLook under the rug...beware! School wide assembly fundraiser sales presentations with incentive plans target to the students offering prizes only of video game characters. Cartoons is employed to babysit "students" on raining days, over 90 degree days...Caution and weary of it's NOT so "open door" policies. Staffs are very defensive and suggestions are not welcomed. Do you really know what happens behind the closed doors? At least they do it for show in compare to other schools that don't even know how. First year here not happy so far.
8/22/2012parentI am very impressed by this school!!! My son is English speaking and is offered to learn Chinese in their Dual Immersion Program, that to me is a head start for a very successful future! I have 2 sons that go here and both really love their teachers and get excited when they see the Principal Ms. Green waiting to greet them! The staff are so nice and make you feel welcome! The Pricipal is very fair and is always Happy!!! I am so excited we moved here and chose Walnut Ele!!!
1/14/2009parentThe teachers and staff are excellent! My son has learned alot.He will be prepared for academic and life success. I enjoy being a room parent volunteer and serving the community club. My child is getting a private school education in publilc school. The skills he is learning will be with him for the rest of his life. Bravo, Walnut Elementary!
1/3/2008parentI feel that Walnut Elementary is a terrific school. I have had small issues arise, but these issues are always resolved in a very professional and kind manner and I really appreciate that! My boys are happy here and they seem to be interested in what they are learning and I feel that it is the excellent staff and teacher's that makes that difference in their lives. Extracurricular activities would be a plus for this school. But overall, great job Walnut El!!
1/14/2006parentThis school by far has shown the most interest in every one of the students. Whether it be the high or low, the entire staff continues to look for ways to help them succeed. The students have been taught to care and be understanding to all whether they are different or the same as everyone else. It is by far, the best elementary that I have seen. I am sure it comes from the staff that also cares about each other as much as they do the students and parents. It is A+.
7/11/2005parentI have 2 children who attend this school, and I will say that the teachers have been awesome! Teachers at this school (most of the ones we have had) go the extra mile for their students and really connect with the children. The office staff and the primcipal howere leave alot to be desired. I feel the prinicapl & office do not value parental input or parent volunteers. The school lacks in extracurricular activities. The community club is a poorly run club that does not focus on the children- only on a select group of bossy moms.I still rated the school highly because the teachers are excellent and they matter the most!
5/1/2005parentThis school offers high parent involvement, a great support network for the kids, and wonderful teachers. My children are happy and challenged at Walnut El, and the staff is warm, encouraging, and attentive.
3/3/2005parentOverall, a decent school. The teachers and staff seem to work hard to make things work, and there is a good amount of parent involvement.
5/3/2004parentThe caliber of teachers and administration is impressive. Quality education is this school's main goal. Children are well taught and respected. It is a joy to be a parent volunteer in my child's classroom and to serve in the community club.
4/1/2004parentI could not have asked for a better school for my children. I am so happy to see Mrs. Stingly outside every morning to greet each child with a smile and hug. It makes me feel very comfortable that my daughter is in a place that truly cares for their students. I love that there are so many differnet cultures, and ethnic backgrounds, it will really prepare my children for the future. Thanks Walnut El!
3/1/2004parentThe teachers and staff at Walnut El are dedicated and a wonderful influence for the children. Ethnic diversity at the school is high and it's great for the kids.
