| 11/15/2010 | other | I went to WHS from 7th - 12th grade and it definetly helped shape my character. Going in 7th grade I was a shy little person but graduating in 12th grade I was a very up beat involved person, and recieved a number of awards because of it. WHS has provided a number of extracurricular activities for people like me, such as athletics, clubs and after school programs. I made a number of friends at whs, a few of which I still keep in contact with, but I definetly keep in contact with the teachers more. Going in freshman year I wasn't sure to expect with other students coming in from outside schools, but it changed my friendship dynamics definetly. One of my closest friends was from out of school and we still keep in touch. The academic program was challanging all through out but the teachers helped us keep up with the material and the testing material was challanging enough for me to get into the wonderful college I'm in now. I went in as a shy little person and came out a strong leader amoungst groups that did not seem to really care about the program. I loved attending WHS and I hope my children will be able to attend WHS in the longtime future (like 20 years from now). |
| 4/21/2010 | parent | My son goes to this school and has come out of his shell and has become very involved with this school. He likes it so much that he has decided to become an Ag teacher. At first I was very hesitant to send him freshmen year because he didn't know anyone and we didn't know much about the program. The teachers are wonderful and helps a student above and beyond their jobs. Because of this school my son is involved with the FFA, is President of the District and is very ambitious and excited for his future. It's great to see a teenager have such drive like he does and its all because of his school. Usually senior year not too many kids know what they want to do but he has known for a while and will be going on to further his education in the field of horticulture. I would recommend this school over any other high school. Its on a smaller scale for classes and your are not a number like the bigger schools. You have more of one on one at this school. |
| 2/3/2010 | parent | The reviews here are all old. Wamogo is a wonderful school The District has a new superintendent who has made a tremendous difference. He has brought in new principals at 3 of the 4 schools. Together they have provided the leadership to change the performance of the District. In a time of budget cutbacks and teacher layoffs, they have managed to grow programs without layoffs or new taxes. They have added a robotics program that competes at the State level. Over the past 3 years they have added new Smart Boards in every classroom and installed new computer networks. Their Student per Instructional Computer ratio is among the best in the State. Their sports programs continue to be top notch in their league. They have recently added Golf, and Lacrosse to a rich program. PLEASE ... ignore any older parent comments. |
| 1/25/2008 | parent | The extracurricular activities are strong at wamogo, all students can participate and it promotes good teaming and leadership skills. The principal leadership is poor, the vice principal does not develop trusting relationships with students. The disciplinary policies do not foster a positive learning experience for the students. The principal leadership does not foster an environment of success and trust for the students. The teachers appear to be caring and helpful. The principals seem to suppress teacher involvement and student intervention. The principal leadership does not promote an open trusing environment between the studens and faculty. This needs to change. |
| 2/24/2007 | student | I go to the school and it is a good school. |
| 1/13/2005 | former student | This is the worst school in the world. |
