9/1/2009parentArchbishop Carroll is a phenomenal place for your children to be educated in a Christian environment. Dr. Stofa and his staff are the best, We are so happy to be part of the Carroll family! It is a great and exciting time to be at Carroll.
10/29/2008parentMy son is a sophomore and he loves Archbishop Carroll. I sent my son here because of what I heard about Dr. Stofa. He is a wonderful principal who only wants the best for his students. If the school has a strong principal you can assure the staff will be strong. Since 2006 Archbishop Carroll has changed for the better and there has been many parents to witness the change.
9/23/2008parentMy son is a Senior there and an outstanding athlete on the track and football team. He loves it. His brother will be going to Carroll too.
10/17/2007parentThis is our son's first year at ACHS. He loves it (and so do we). Although he did well at DeMatha, we transferred him because we felt Carroll would provide a more nurturing, personable environment. We were right! His teachers are all awesome. The new academic VP is outstanding and Dr. Stofa is an exceptional leader. The school is small/intimate and focuses on preparing our young (predominantly minority) students for the real world both academically and socially. The administration is aware of the challenges our young people will face and are taking every measure to ensure they are able to compete. We have not had a chance to explore the athletic program, as our son plays spring sports, but I am encouraged by Dr. Sofa's assurance they will be up to par. I highly recommend ACHS. Don't be fooled or get caught up by other so-called prep schools with big names.
8/7/2007parentMy son just graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School. He loved it and my family really enjoyed having him a Christian school. It is a great school!!!
8/3/2007parentMy daughter has been a student @ ACHS since 9th grade. She will be a senior this upcoming school year. I must admit there has been some bumps and bruises along the way however we (the parents, students & faculty) have always pulled through. Our newest and most prominent improvement, Dr Stofa! He is the 'bomb'! He is hands on with the students and parents! His willingness to sit and listen, monitor, walk the walk of the students is exceptional! He was a true GOD send and he will bring ACHS back up to standards maybe even beyond. Big ups to Mr. Savoy! He has always provided a safe and inviting environment @ ACHS. He has always gained the respect of the students as well as taught them integrity. Ms. Blaufass has also been a impressionable addition. I am over pleased with the changes!
5/31/2006parentI have been trying to stick it out thinking that the school would get better but it has been one disappointment after another. I liked the small class size but have not been impressed with much of the course work. Have not gotten responses from many teachers. The sports and other activitites are lacking also. My son plays baseball and it was not even included as a one of the school sports in the year book. The cost of tuition keeps going up and at this point I know I'm not getting ehat I'm paying for. I would have to agree with the other parent's disappointment.
4/18/2006parentThis school is academically from a 0-10 level, is a 5, it has some challeging classes like history, and college writing. The rest is very poor. No discipline is enforce in the school. Most of the students are disciplined with demerits every week, creating a habit for them, attending to school on saturdays. No teacher-parent support. Administrators are not available. Religion aspect is not demonstrated at all, except for the soup kitchen, feeding homeless. If you care about your child, please do not register him/her in this school.
11/4/2005studentAs a student attending Archbishop High School,I can vouch for the academic prowess that our school possesses. The teachers are outstanding, They equip students with the academic foundation conducive to achieving academic excellence. The students are filled with an enthusiasim and desire to learn that an individual will be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Something noteworthy is the school's atmosphere, deeply entrenced in Catholic value, challenging all students to strive for the greater glory of God in all their endeavors. I feel that Archbishop Carroll has well prepeared me for college and beyond.
4/19/2005studentI love Carroll high school. We are all like a big family. Everyone helps each other out. There are are alot of clubs and sports. I am in my sophemore year there and i have been happy since freshman year. I have alot of friends in all grades and this has been 1 of the best experiences of my life so far.
4/19/2005former studentI graduated from ACHS five years ago. I attended a liberal arts institution that is ranked 13 in the nation. The caliber of our education was often compared to similarly run Ivy league Schools. Carroll prepared me for this opportunity, and spared no expense in hellping me achieve all of my dreams, both athletic and academic. All but two of my classmates were accped into four year universities and more than seventy percent actually went on to attend college. Of my closest friends who graduated with me and continued to college with me: One is in law school, one is on the PhD track in Scoiology, one is teaching full-time, and the last is working for the Civil Rights Division of the government.
9/24/2004studentI attend this school as a freshman and I am over all not impressed with the way they treat me i dont feel as if i recieve the same respect I give. The teachers do not seem to want to get to know their students and the whole school is very disorganized, but on the other hand we do have a lot of fun clubs and teams, but to join you must be serious about the team or club. I've made a few friends so far and I must admit some of the faculty are actually very nice but over all the school has not made me happy at all.
8/26/2003former studentExcellent teachers and have good programs for students.
