5/16/2012parentThis is a great school with teachers who are incredibly caring and committed to teaching using the latestest information about how students learn. My oldest has been attending Brent for 4 years after starting at PreK 3. We feel incredibly lucky to attend this school!!!!!
3/17/2011parentWe feel lucky to be in-bounds for the best school on the Hill. We have not been disappointed with our daughter's experience at Brent. The school is beautiful, the teachers are amazing, and the parental involvement is incredible.
1/10/2011parentAs the parent of a student in Brent's pre-K program, I cannot say enough about how the faculty have created a welcoming, homey environment and brought out the best in our son developmentally and socially in the 4 months he has been there. Based on our friends' and neighbors' experiences at Brent, when it came time for our son to start school, we never seriously considered any other option for him, and we haven't regretted it.
12/19/2010parentAn up and coming school undergoing rapid transformation to meet community needs. Enthusiastic and talented teaching staff with commitment to the future development of the school combined with a very active PTA thay is supporting and accompanying the development of this wonderful school.
10/11/2010otherI love Brent because of the great after school activities and the great teachers!!!!!
6/18/2010parentBrent is the complete package. The staff is top notch - there is not a weak link in the teaching staff. The administration (Dr. Wilhoyte) "gets it" and the school is well run. And most importantly, the students form a tight knit community and love to learn. Just visit the school and ask the first two parents you run into . . .
2/25/2010parentBrent Elementary School has come a long ways. There have been many challenges with staffing, classroom management, and test scores. Since Mrs. Wilhoyt has been the principal the many changes and challenges have had a positive outcome. This is the first year that I can say that I am glad that I decided to keep my cildren enrolled at Brent.
2/24/2010parentBrent is a wonderful school - Highly qualified principal and teachers that care about the children. Every effort is made to ensure children excel in reading skills. MY grandaughter loves the school!!!
11/3/2009parentBrent Elementary is the most challenging and rewarding neighborhood school in Washington.
11/3/2009parentIt's a state-of-the-art urban museum magnet school with excellent teachers and staff - a wonderful diverse student body - and a committed parent /teacher / community volunteer organization. Take a look at www.brentelementary.org !
8/12/2009parentBrent Elementary School is not a good school for your child. Since my son has attended (the past two years), they have had numerous staff changes, extremely large student to teacher ratios (29-1), and underequipped teachers and staff. The staff are more focused on fundraising and making the school look 'pretty' than they are education. Such a disappointing experience for myself and my son.
6/19/2008studentBrent is a very good scool I have been going there sence 1st grade. The kids are so nice and well behaved i just graduated from 6th grade class of 08.
3/26/2008parentWe had considered moving to the 'burbs for a better school system but the quality of this school is allowing us to continue living in the city. Our daughter has gone through the Pre-K3 program and is now in Pre-K4. She has had awesome teachers. We look forward to putting our son in when he is old enough. The new principal is awesome, and well respected by the Chancellor. There is a hard-core group of parents committed to raising money and improving the infrastructure, which is the one area currently lacking. But this should not obscure the great things going on inside.
12/20/2007parentMy son has been a student here since the 1st grade. I am so very pleased with Brent. The teachers are very involved, the students seem to be full of pride and school spirit! I made a great choice by enrolling him at Brent Elementary.
8/14/2007parentBrent Elementary is a great school for your child.
6/1/2007parentMy pre-schooler has had a very good experience at Brent. My husband and I have been very pleased with Brent Elementary School both academically and socially. So much so that we expect to send our upcoming fourth grader there who has been home-schooled for the past two years. The principal has a leadership style that inspires educators, parents and students alike. It is a gem of school.
