10/21/2012parentMy children attended Kingswood years ago, and now I have my grandson at the school. In homestead this school is unique it gives your child a love of learning and sets them up to love learning. My daughter knew when my grandson came of age Kingswood would be the only school for him, my kids still have wonderful memories of the beautiful campus, which has only gotten better. Kingswood is an established school in our community and I love that generations of families that I know have been educated in such a wonderful institution. A true homestead treasure.
9/28/2012parentBy far the worst school that my son has ever attended. Thid school is all about business and not about a nurturing educational environment there quick to dismiss kids that are active and the teachers have no qualifications to be teaching the classes are teaching. Montessori Philosophy is not even followed. Ask to see the teachers credentials. I'm sure the director will tiptoe around why she can't show you them.
2/16/2012parentTop notch preschool. I was referred by two friends who have their children at this school and I decided to have a look for myself because my friends rave about this place. As soon as you walk through the doors you can tell this is a wonderful place. This preschool is owner operated. The director/owner is actually there all of the time. She cares about the school and the children and it shows. The school is immaculate, the children are happy. The teachers always look like they are actually happy to be there, not like in other schools I have been in. I can't say enough good things. Definately, the place to have your preschooler. Another plus..their VPK is actually free
7/19/2011parentCertainly, the best Homestead has to offer. My child's previous school was not challenging enough so one of our friends recommended we see Kingswood. The school is beautiful, I fell in love from the tour alone but did my homework before enrolling. In one school year my child has advanced two grade levels in reading and a a full grade level in math. My son is so happy, he wants to go to school on Saturdays. It is certainly refreshing to see such a beautiful school that offers such a strong academic program. There truly is no other school like it in all of Homestead. Believe me I looked and looked for a long time.
10/13/2010parentKingswood Montessori is one of the nation's finest schools,is one of the few accredited schools in the area. Kingswood excels in every quality that a school should have. The resources and the facility the school has makes me wish I was in school again. Also, the teacher to student ratio is low which provides each student with more attention. I would recommend this school to any parent for their children. The staff is also very responsive to the parents' needs.
9/20/2010parentThis is my children's second year at Kingswood. Yes, the school has been through some staff changes but definitely for the better. My husband and I are delighted with the changes. The teachers want to be here and it shows. My children love their new teachers and several of them have higher degrees than their predecessors. The campus is beautiful and we feel very secure in sending our children here. We can't see sending our children anywhere else.
9/15/2010parentMy children have been going to kingswood for 2 years now and my husband and I are very happy with the new administration and the new changes! The have lots of afterschool activities for the children and the director works hard at insuring our kid's safety and education. a couple of parents aren't too happy about the new administration because they're focused on gossiping and not seeing what a great job the director is doing. I must say she is definitely more concerned with academics then the previous owner. i highly recommend this school and can't wait to see the smart boards in the classes!
9/14/2010parentAn amazing preschool experience. The teachers dedication and commitment to each childs needs is amazing. Both boys have learned to read by age 4. Aside from academics, the manners, independence and responsibility practiced and enforced daily are priceless! All students are way ahead those at other schools, in all areas of study. Most recent is awareness to 'go green'. The parent involvement is like no other- dads included, parents are always welcome on campus for any matter. The smile on their faces says it all!
9/13/2010parentThe school has a great educational program. My child receives individual attention and this has really made a difference in his learning. This year there are a lot more activities and afterschool programs, like yoga, soccer and karate, for preschool and elementary, as well as lectures for parents on great topics. I was on a waiting list, and waited to get enrolled, and I am thrilled we got in. I am excited for next year. The tours are very informative and you learn about Montessori.
9/7/2010parentI have had two children at Kingswood for several years and have always loved the school. The school changed last year however, when it was purchased by a new family. The new owners simply do not seem to know enough about the traditional Montessori philosophy to compare to the previous owners. The school itself is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are also lovely. My biggest concern would be education. After last year, almost the entire staff left the school, so I am worried about the quality of the replacement staff. This year will truly be an uphill battle. My only advice is, take a tour, but dont just look at the property.....ask ALOT of questions

9/3/2010parentKingswood has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. It is a warm, loving and very safe environment that focuses on the whole child. The staffs there are amazing, they have very qualified teachers and excellent extra curriculum activities, the school grounds immaculate, the school has different animals for the children to interact and learn. This will be my daughter s third year and each year I am more impressed with Kingswood's level of excellence.

7/24/2010parentI am a native of homestead. And I just moved my child to kingswood. He was previously attending a different preschool. He is 2.5 and has started saying please and thank you without provocation. I think the comments on here about the principal are baseless gossip and are made by parents who are resistant to change. The director is very attentive and the new teachers have significant experience and are Montessori certified. I am very excited about my sons progress.
7/21/2010parentThe academic program at Kingswood is true to its reputation. The students easily carry what they learn to the standard type of school/learning environment. The owner of the school, administrators, faculty and parents are all very caring about all of the children at this school without exception. In addition, they are constantly watching out for each childs' progress. To complete the program, extra-curricular activities are so abundant it is difficult to select. I have friends that have switched their children out of this school and have had to switch back as their children started to take steps back in their education.

7/20/2010parentI strongly recommend this school to parents who value what is truly important in the school... the student. My child has been a student now for 4 years and I am amazed at the new energy the school has had this year. Education, positivity, encouraging independence, fostering a safe environment is the priority at this school, as well as giving my child an individual attention to his learning needs. The school is nationally accredited and the administration is very attentive to the families needs. I agree with the last reviews, definitely do your research, visit other schools, ask to speak to current families enrolled in the school, and you will see what makes this school so great.
7/16/2010parentOur daughter is in the early elementary years, this school will make a difference in your childs interests in school and it will also give them a heads up for later life. She just completed her second year at Kingswood. We are thrilled with the school and the personal attention our daughter receives in terms of academic and social development. The environment is extremely supportive for the kids, and almost all the kids I see at the school love being there. The after-school programs are superb and offer a wide array activities such as dance, music, art, sports. The facilities are excellent for these grade levels, from the playgrounds to bathrooms in each classroom.
7/14/2010parentThe school is absolutely wonderful! . I have only witnessed fairness, equality, excellence and hard work on the part of the staff, the new administration is even better than the previus one. The facilities are a dream and the technology that is necessary to educate, has been placed into the hands of the teachers, they have computers, all the montessori materials and supplies. I love that my daughter is caring, and talks about her school day and is in a school where she doesn't have to worry about fights and bullies, and gets excited to go to every day, even when she is sick. I decided to go to kingswood because it is so safe , you notice the administration and the staff behavior very proffesional on this matter.Kingswood Montessori Academy is accredited, is one of the kind in the nation and not found at any other school in the area, public or private.
7/11/2010otherKingswood was a superior school under its past ownership with an outstanding staff. Since the new administration took over, all the teachers have quit and most families have left. This should serve as a warning. Do not be deceived by the school's appearance.
7/8/2010parentThe school is absolutely wonderful! . I have only witnessed fairness, equality, excellence and hard work on the part of the total staff, the new administration is even better than the previus one. The entire facilities are a dream and the technology that is necessary to educate, has been placed into the hands of the teachers to use daily, they have computers, all the montessori materials and supplies. 7/8/2010parentI am very disappointed with my child's experience in the summer program this year. It is under staffed and disorganized. The room does not look like it is being cleaned or taken care of. I knew that the last school year was chaotic to say the least. The entire staff quit in June. Against my better judgment I decided to put my child in for the summer & to registar for the fall. I know now that my child will not return to this school. The owner seems very overwhelmed and under qualified. I will not allow my child's education to be in the hands of people who are experimenting with running a Montessori program.
7/8/2010parentOur daugher has attended preschool at this facility and we could not be more pleased. She reads without difficulty, does creative art projects, is excited about math and can count and write to 100 without help. She starts Kindergarten in 6 weeks. The school is very, very safe and the staff takes this responsibility seriusly .There are many ways for parents to be involved in the school and in the classroom. Parental participation is quite high. The extracurricular activites include soccer, tennis, string instruments, music appreciation, Karate, yoga, dance and more. We considered many schools before chosing this one and couldn't be happier with our choice.Ah they have two miniature horses,a goose,a rooster and goats for the childrens to interact and learn love the animals.
7/6/2010parentThis school is unique,I recommend this school to parents who understand what is really important . My child has been a student now for 3 years and I am amazed at the new energy the school has had this year. Education, positivity, encouraging independence, fostering a safe environment is the priority at this school, as well as giving my child an individual attention to his learning needs. The school is nationally accredited and the administration is very attentive to the families needs. Do you homework and visit the school will see what makes this school so great and the best in the area.
6/30/2010parentKingswood Montessori Academy is a small school with about 100 students from the toddler age to 6th grade. It has a family feeling due to its size and devotion to each student. There is always a feeling of peace and harmony among all the students. Music and art are taught every week as well as P.E. Spanish is taught too.You have an option to have your child attend pre-k to kindergarden in Escuela which is a complete spanish class setting. I am very happy with the level of education that the school provides. I think that the school is outstanding.
6/29/2010parentThe new Director is absolutely wonderful. She is attentive and considerate, the staff is superb and the school is immaculate. It is truly a unique environment that all children should experience. My children have thrived and we look forward to continuing at this amazing school.
6/29/2010parentKingswood montessori is an excellent and very special schools, campus is beautiful ,but more important is that children are in a very safe enviroment where they learn a lot.,do your homework Kingswood Montessori is one of the few private school accredited in the area.
6/13/2010otherUnfortunately the ratings on this school will continue to decline as all of the teachers have left as of the end of the school year. What is a school without teachers? And without an administration that upholds integrity and the Montessori standards that made Kingswood beloved by the students and families? None of the excellent qualities remain - except for the buildings and the landscaping...
6/13/2010parentThe reason why the school got accredited this year was because of the wonderful teachers that made Kingswood what it was and I mean was. Now all the teachers have quit and the new administration did nothing but put them down. But I can tell you that these teachers have been dedicated to making Kingswood what it was for years. The old administration was the reason it was so successful for 40 years! That speaks for it self. The new administration knows nothing about Montessori. I would look into other real Montessori schools because they are not hiring teachers with Montessori training. Be aware of schools that have a big turn around in staff. It should give you a big red flag.
6/11/2010parentMy child has been going to Kingswood for many years and I have to honestly say the new administration is excellent. The new director is extremely focused on the children's education and safety. I must agree with another post I read, that this new administration is far better than the previous. Sadly, many of the parents and teachers could not handle the change and focused more on trashing the new administration than seeing how determined they are to make this school better. The teacher was always disrespectful to my child and others & was focused more on gossiping and now my child has to take summer tutoring. Good thing she will not be back next year. I was told the school will be getting new, more qualified, dedicated and determined teachers excited to actually teach!
6/9/2010parentThis beautiful school provides a wonderful enviroment for children to learn and develope socialy and academically. The school setting provides time in the garden and farm animals for the students .I am very happy with the level of education the school provides.I think the school is outstanding, the administration is great.
6/8/2010parentBefore enrolling my daugther at Kingswood Montessori Academy, I visited, researched, asked other parents about schools in the area. Hands down this is truly a unique school. I am happy with the teacher my son will have next year and over all impressed with the new administration and school!

5/28/2010parentThank god this year is over. After 3 wonderful years at Kingswood, this school year was a disaster with the new administration. Don't let the pretty grounds fool you-the heart and soul of this school is now gone. The experienced teachers have all moved on, as have most of the families. Do your homework before you register here. You cannot trust the Kingswood reputation anymore.
4/29/2010parentMy children have been going to kingswood for 2 years now and my husband and I are very happy with the new administration and the new changes! 4/6/2010parent Kingswood has a wonderful academic program, the school grounds are very unique, the envioroment in general is very special. My child attended their summer VPK program and he learned to read that summer I decided to enroll him for his Kindergarten year. Next year he will be starting first grade and is very excited. I am very happy with the school and my child loves it
3/4/2010parentSadly, Kingswood has undergone a change of ownership resulting in an atmosphere of hostility and dissrespect. Teachers and students are leaving after numerous failed attempts to work through situations with the Head Mistress. The teachers are wonderful... but most are not returning in the fall.
2/23/2010parentExcellent school!!!!! The teachers is amazingly and the Principal is the best.
1/14/2010parentMy daughter has been at Kingswood for 3 years and here are the facts about my experience: *The school is true Montessori school *Breathtaking campus, that is impeccably maintained, where my daughter loves to run and play *Gardens the children actually plant *Animals the are responsible and interact with *A new administration that has positive energy and has implemented more extracurricular activities, focused more on academics, created a parent association * A couple of weird parents that dont accept change I highly recommend this school
12/8/2009parentBefore enrolling my son at Kingswood, I visited, researched, asked other parents about schools in the area. Hands down this is truly a unique school. I am happy with his teachers and over all impressed with the administration and school!
11/24/2009parentKingswood has taught my child to love school. He is eager to go and learn every day. I have had the opportunity to volunteer in the classroom, and I have seen first hand how the envioroment, teachers and staff work individually with the students. I highly recommend it.
11/18/2009parentMy child is a 'current' student at Kingswood and has been for the past two years. This is his first year in the Elementary program and I am impressed with his academic progress, as well as his excitement and enthusiasm to learn and go to school. I do not believe is a fair assesment to judge the school if one is no longer in attendance. Kingswood is the only true Montessori school in Homestead, a method that teaches children far more than other schools..., life lessons. I feel the education he is receiving at Kingswood is a great investment for his future.
11/2/2009parentExcelent,best school in the area,my son is very happy and learning a lot.Staff is great.
10/20/2009parentThe only school in all of Miami Dade that I would consider having my two daughters in. The new Director is absolutely wonderful. She is attentive and considerate, the staff is superb and the school is immaculate. It is truly a unique environment that all children should experience. My children have thrived and we look forward to continuing at this amazing school.
6/19/2009parentBeautiful school, great facility, fantastic staff you can tell children are priority number 1.My son is very happy and safe.Kids are in small classes and learn a lot.
6/17/2009parentThis school is the best in the area, academically is top notch and from the administration to the teachers every one's priority is the children welfare and education. I strongly recommend it.
5/6/2009parentFantastic school! Absolutely the best environment in South Dade for children 18 months through 6th grade. We wouldn't go anywhere else.
5/9/2006parentMy son absolutely loved this school. It has small classes, nice teachers, a huge play area outside, a vegetable garden, and a barn with animals. Although pricey, I will always recommend this place!
5/7/2006parentThis school provides a wonderful environment for children to develope socially and academically. The staff is very supportive and knowledgable. The parents in the school work together to enrich the already wonderful classrooms. The school setting provides time in the garden and some farm animals for the students to interact with during the year. I could not be happier with my choice.
3/18/2006parentKingswood Montessori has set the bar so high for me that the idea of finding a school that can be equal to it scares me. It is a small school with about 100 students from the toddler age to 7th grade. It has a family feeling due to its size and devotion to each student. There is always a feeling of peace and harmony among all the students and teachers. Music and art are taught every week as well as P.E. Spanish is taught for grade levels 2 and up. You have an option to have your child attend pre-k to kindergarden in Escuela which is a complete spanish class setting. I am very happy with the level of education that the school provides. I think that the school is outstanding.
