5/25/2011parentmy son is in the ese progams in this school. he is in prek and is developemently delayed. when he started school he could barely talk but now i can't get him to be quiet because he has so much to say, it puts a smile on my face. he was not potty trained when he started now he doesnt even use diapers to go to bed. now tell me how this is not a good school. first and for most if your going to insult people's teaching skills you should learn how to spell or use spell check before you post. second the staff does what they can. i love this school for my son his teachers are so amazing. keep it up hyde grove. A childs education and discipline begins at home. Teach your own kids how to behave dont expect the teacers to do it for you.
10/19/2010parentI think the school is doing a good job with what they have to work with.... no money, little parent involement.... If you want to complain why dont you volenteer and she whats going on in the school before you start bad mouthing the teachers
2/26/2010parentThis school is horrid. I am doing everything in my power to get my child out of it. There is no guidance, the kids that attend have no home training, and the teachers are less than devoted. My child has a substitute almost weekly. The kids seem to make the rules and the aftercare program is more like a babysitting scam.
11/5/2008parentI attended Hyde Grove Elementary as a child K-5. My son now attends this school, He was a student at Fishwier in there Magnet program. I removed him from this A graded school, because my son was not learning well there. Since he's been attending Hyde Grove is grades has come up tremendously and there's more teacher involvment. People are always saying there needs to be more parent involvment, but I have always been involved in my sons education since he was in Pre-school and so has many other parents who kids attend this school. I attended Hyde Grove as a child and I graduated from College with a four year business degree not because my parents encouraged me, but because I had teachers who cared and push me to do better. When you have students attending a school with a poor community and no parent involvement. That's why you have PTA.
11/4/2008parentThe kids in this school run the school!!! The teachers and the parents of these students have no controll of them!!! They need to buckle down and stop being scared of the parents and tell them that their children need LOVE and DISAPLEN! My daughter comes home every day crying because she gets picked on and shoved around! I try to get her in somewhere else she gets straight As and every other school seems to be full.. So if we can't get our children into a better school, then the school needs to change for the better... Even when you go to the school with these problems,, The parents of these students Try to fight the parents who go to the school.... Grown People.. Something needs to change... You can blame the good students wich seems to be the case but it is not them.
1/31/2008teacherI am in my second year teaching at Hyde Grove, and I've seen them make gains in many areas. We have some of the most caring teachers and staff, and a way above average principal with a vision for the school and a heart for the students and staff. The best way to describe Hyde Grove is 'We Are Family'.
9/19/2007studenti am very proud of this school i attened hyde grove since first grade. and that is an excellent school.!!!!
8/4/2005parentConsidering the lack of parent involvement, and the fact that this is a title 1 school I believe this school with it's administration and staff are doing a wonderful job with the students, and have maintained their 'C' average despite the many challenges they have faced. If only the parents would realize that they to have a resposibility in the education process with their child.
11/20/2004parentI think the teachers at this school are very good. I believe they do the best with what they have to work with.
