6/7/2012otheryour school has attained national recognition because of the two little unapologetic upper class appearing cretins ... uh, i mean darling little sweethearts that stole money from the little girl scout who was selling cookies. bad enough that they did it, but posting a video and mugging for a photographer where they basically brag about it and were upset that they ''didn't even get to keep the money''. we're not talking about underprivledged kids from low income homes here either. ''we saw that money and it was ours''. they needed it to put gas in her car or buy a new cellphone? sounds horrible enoght, but after they were taken out of school by the police THEY WENT TO THE PLACE THE 9 YEAR OLD WAS AND STOOD TEN FEET AWAY AND TAUNTED HER WHILE THEY SWIGGED THEIR STARBUCKS... i hope the judge see the video and throws the book at them and this gets put on their school transcript so the college they apply to can see what they're accepting with these two little darlings. i wouldn't be surprised to see this happen in watts, or east LA or harlem, but i guess palm beach is raising it's own brand of arrogant little suburban trash. how'd ya like for your son to take her to the prom...
5/23/2012parentMy daughter is a sophmore in this school and I had high hopes after a mediocre education at Manatee Elementary and Christa McAuliffe Middle School. Unfortunately, the school is a huge disappointment and my daughter hates it. The school is way too crowded since they accept everyone who applies. Drop off in the mornings and pick up in the afternoons is a nightmare. The teachers are horrendous, many of them absent a ridiculous amount of time and sharing highly inappropriate personal information with their students and often show movies in class having nothing to do with the subject matter. Students are disruptive in class and most teachers have no idea or no interest in taking control of their classrooms. If I had another child entering any of the schools that my daughter has attended so far, I would put that child in a private school at any cost.
2/10/2012parentAgree with the last parent. School is run like a prison. There is no respect for students. Some of the rules are ridiculous. My child is an "A" student with good conduct and is miserable. The administrators don't care and good luck getting to speak with the principal. The assistant principals will tell you they don't make the rules. The receptionist at the front desk is awful. We will be taking our child out next year even if she has to be home schooled. She has been in public school/ gifted programs her entire time at school and been very happy and successful. This school is horrible. If you are a parent and child who care about grades and education then this is not the school for you. There are a few great teachers but overall we are not impressed.
11/20/2011parentToo crowded, not enough help for students who struggle, they want kids who don't achieve high scores to enroll in other programs such as Life Skills Center which is a "school" that kids go to for half a day and work the other half. However, they are wanded like at the airport before they enter this institution. Most teachers are not respectful to the students as human beings. I am not impressed. The receptionist at the front desk is verbally abusive to the student aids that help her.
7/1/2011otherI'm going to be coming to this school this coming school year...hopefully, everything works well for me! Based on the reviews I've read so far, it seems like this is a really good high school
6/9/2011parentI was sickened to see thousands of dollars in the 2011 Pathfinder Scholarships flushed down the toilet. Politics, as usual, weighed heavily in the selection process for Park Vista candidates. It is just a sad statement as to how things operate at this school.
6/5/2011studentI have to say... Park vista is actually a pretty good school. Although, I would prefer more academy options. [Most] of the teachers here are great, especially huljack:D She knows how to make class interesting while you're still learning at the same time. - Freshman of '10/'11
4/28/2011parentThis school is terrible. Administration and most of the teachers are bad examples for our children. It is more like a prison out of control than a warm learning environment. The administration is more worried about controlling the students versus give them a positive learning experience. The administration focuses on discipline and does not even do that well. I believe this is the principal's fault. Leadership starts at the top.
4/25/2011studentQuite dissapointed with this school. The academics and teachers are great. But it is not the enviorment I wanna be in. Many bullies in the school. Mostly ones who judge other students by what the amount of money the family has, and the clothes they were. Its very sad. I thought it would all be a friendly, lovable school. It is not.
5/4/2010parentI thought this was a great school. Until my sever autistic son was suspended for a day - for taking a cookie from a teacher! This is the type of compassion they have for their ESE students. My son doesn't talk - can't defend himself - can't even apologize for lack of speech...but none of it mattered. This school has disappointed me and I warn other parents!! Shame on Ms. de Santi - the assistant principle who was willing to do this to a kid who still wears a diaper for god's sake!
4/13/2010parentMy oldest daughter was a 2009 graduate from Park Vista and I can tell you that it is a very good school. The teachers, facility and administration are all good. They also have an on campus police officer and the Boynton Beach Police Dept is also right there. I have another daughter who will start their in the 2011 school year and I know that her experience will be just as good.
11/23/2009studentI'm an honors and AP student here at Park Vista, class of 2010, and all I can say is that my experience here has been nothing but positive. The school excels in every area, from academics to the arts and athletics, and for those parents looking for a high school that takes care of its top achievers, this school would be it. We have the highest percentages in the county besides the arts high school for graduation (on time) as well as the highest rate of kids going on to college, quite a few being first generation. Needless to say: Park Vista Rules! Go Cobras!
10/24/2009studentI'm a Senior of the Class of 08!!, & i just can say that PV is the best HS in the County !! For real, i just went to PV my last year of HS but i can say for sure, that i would love to stay there so much than a year... i learnt too much and the teachers are such amazing!! i love PV for Real <3 !!... go Cobras for eva !! Great Spirit !! -Zay O8-
9/16/2009parentPark Vista has been a wonderful experience for my daughter. And I know that when she leaves next spring she will miss all of the caring staff and student body.
7/10/2009otherExcellent school- teachers are great- and experienced-
5/19/2009parentPark Vista is a great school all around with minimum problems with students. It is definitely contusive to learning and offers allot of support for kids and parents alike. My son graduated PV this year and my daughter is in 10th I would not ever move them.
4/30/2009studentThis school is the BEST school ive ever attended in my life. I LOVVEE The teachers and i LOOVEEE the block schedual. The art teacher there is the Best ARt teacher ive ever had and so is the biology teacher. This school is very great it even has an IT Academy and one of there programs are Gaming. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SCHOOL. and the people who work in the school are great as well, no hassel or anything. The school also is VERY clean and beautiful. Hopefully it stays that way. And as far as problems with students, i havent had much.
4/15/2009parentI think Park Vista is a very good school. We were happy with the education our daughter recieved there.
2/16/2009studentBest School In Palm Beach County! Hands Down, great teachers and beautiful facilities and rescources, its like a regular prepatory school for college! - Senior '09
1/7/2009otherI'm a junior currently and this year Reginald Myers became our principal and I saw a dramatic change. We were no longer allowed to get away with as much as we did before. I'm kind of amazed because I never thought that we would have a day where there were no food fights.
1/3/2009studentVery good teachers and high expectations, it definitely keeps me working for my grades =)
12/14/2008studentgreat school but the kids will kill someone with their driving..I'm a freshman and I love park Vista *no bullies =-D * and the teachers are amazing
12/10/2008parentMy daughter attends PV... amazing school... only 2 bad points... 1) NO parent support... 2) Kids drive like maniacs in student parking lot, someone is going to get hurt
7/25/2008parentI am a parent of two students at Park Vista. I can truely say that Park Vista is one of the top high schools in south Florida. Both my kids have been involved in extra curricular activities and have enjoyed those experiences tremendously. The academic atmosphere at Park Vista is outstanding and the administration and the teaching staff are exceptional. This is what public education is all about!
7/24/2008studentGreat school, too overcrowded though. The teachers and students are wonderful, for the most part.
6/1/2008studentI recently graduated from Park Vista and I must say it was quite a journey. There are many clubs and sports but the one thing i liked the most were the academic courses. It all depends if you want to be challenged or not; there is something for everyone and ultimately that's what high school is all about- finding what you like; it offers so many things that will definitely trigger a spark. I loved my experience in Park Vista; there are so many people i got to meet- people who have changed my life and memories that will last forever. PV is the school to go to. c/o 2008 :D
5/15/2008parentPark Vista seems to be a great school, however with my daughter I have yet to see her bring home any homework of any kind. They have a different type of class scheduling whereas one day will be all even classes the next will be all odd classes and some days they are in the same class for two hours at a time. None of my daughters teachers have posted anything other than their syllabus and possibly a few links to other areas on the Edline website so it has made it difficult to follow what my daughter is doing. Nor are they very responsive via email. Park Vista is an A rated school and here in PB County that goes along way. If you have to choose a school in PBC then Park Vista is your best choice.
4/24/2008studentPark Vista is a very good high school. They have many A.P. classes that can be pretty challenging. Because of the sheer size of the school, it can feel like a small college at times. My only complaint is that the visual art and preforming art departments were low of the administrations list or priorities. They seemed to value sports much more than any of the arts - and as an art student that really ticked me off. Other than that, the school is great.
4/1/2008studentAll extracuriculars have had had all funding eliminated. So every club is suffering also. Students are forced to take AP classes to be challenged and to have great teachers.
3/29/2008studentPark Vista High School offers a variety of different classes, and has many excellent teachers, however the decision of the administration to cancel drama classes next year shocked me. As a student in drama classes, and a preforming arts-drama major, i am very frustrated by Mrs. Rosensweigs decision !
2/5/2008studentI am a student of Park Vista and I am extremely frustrated because they have cut the drama program from the school. Meaning no classes or clubs. Making it seem unfair for students who wish to express themselves through the performing arts. Even though the suroundings and teachers are fantastic, the principal Mrs. Rosenswag the principal has gone too far.
12/20/2007parentWe feel as parents of 2 students that attend and did attend your school, that Parke Vista has some exceptional teachers and that school spirit does exist at this school. We feel it deserves a high rating.
11/21/2007parentThe school is clean and the administration ensures order and discipline. This is quite a feat with such a large teenage student population. The one thing I think they need to be more aggressive about is engaging parents in proactively supporting the school. I have not received much, if any, communications around parental support. I think the school is missing an opportunity.
11/18/2007studentPV is a great school. I got to meet new people and make a plethora of friends. The teachers are excellent. They are strict yet make learning fun! PV is the best school in florida!!
10/19/2007parentThis is a great school. They are on top of everything & the kids seem to have good relationships w/the adminisrative staff, teachers, & school police. They are also parent friendly & you must show ID every time you enter the school.
10/5/2007studentI am a student at Park Vista High School and I am loving every minute of it! It is one great step toward success. The teachers push you work harder and to give nothing less than 100%. The curriculum is great with a plandora of A.P. classes. All my friends, including I, love this school and are always proud to show off our school spirit.
9/26/2007parent I have two children at Park Vista and my children have alot of homework! Even if they don't have 'homeowork' they have books to read and tests to study for. I feel Park Vista is a great school that prepares them for college. Every school has it's problems, and Park Vista has some, I'm sure, but I believe the way the Administration handles those problems says alot about a school. Park Vista's Administration handles things professionally and consistently. They are strict, but they have to be with the size of the school. Keep up the good work!
9/20/2007studentPark Vista is a very good school in a variety of ways. The admin. is strict with its rules. Also, its cirriculum is very good. Also, it's very crowded and sometimes unsafe.
6/29/2007parentMy son rarely received homework in his three honor classes and none in his second year Spanish class or other regular classes. Teachers took away student's text books before the Memorial day holiday so they could not review for final exams. Parent involvement? Go to a SAC meeting and you will know why there is none.
6/1/2007parentI believe that Park Vista has added a sense of opportunity to this are of Palm Beach County if not Palm Beach County in a whole! As you walk on the campus you feel a sense of success, and hard-work. The teachers are all well respect, and well trained individuals many at young ages leaving a relationship between the students and faculty to become more than just pupil and teacher but friend and student but of course in the most appropriate way. Teachers are able to relate to the teachers. Extracurriculars are abundant and all well known. I have never seen more parent involvement at a high school in this county and the academics are phenomenal. It's a main focus at PV which is why it's been able to get this far. The curriculum is rigorous and the admin. is tough! PV is excellent! Palm Beach county knows it!
3/2/2007parentPark vista is a wonderful high school, i couldn't ask anything more for my child. The band program is wonderful and i encourage everyone to become part of the wonderful, talented band. The director is one of the best out there! My child is very happy with the teachers and the other children that attend Park Vista.
10/3/2006studentThe Best School I have found in FL! The teachers are great, there are so many things offered for the students and I fell the safest I have in my entire life!
9/1/2006parentNever have I seen my child come home with homework! I believe that the students need to be pushed much harder as in preparation for college. These kids most definitely need to be successful in the near future for they're the future!
5/16/2006studentPark Vista is a great school. I am a student and I feel very safe here. The programs here are excelent. I am a part of both the band and Chorus and I enjoy both very much! I feel privialged to be able to attend this school.
5/7/2006parentI believe Park Vista is an excellent school. Quite frankly, it is safe and has a sense of a college. Also, Park Vista has a friendly atmosphere which helps in the learning environment. Park Vista has a great, knowlegable staff. I just wish I could have gottne my education at Park Vista, like my son.
4/16/2006former studentI used to go to this school and I usually don't have a lot of 'school spirit' but I was so proud to go to Park Vista. It is truly a wonderful school. I play music and I was in the band. The band program is probably one of the best programs they have. The director is superior in comparrison to any other that I have had or met. If I could choose what school I wanted to go to I would choose Park Vista, without a doubt!
