| 3/14/2012 | parent | I love this school. My son has excelled in all his studies and the teachers and faculty are great. The after school sports programs are excellent and designed to encourage good student grades. Just a great, normal down to earth environment to raise well educated and well adjusted young people. Not easy to do in a town such as Naples. |
| 2/9/2011 | student | First,I must say the food is horrible.I once was eating and found a spider in my salad that was dead. Some of the teachers don't even have degrees in the subject for which they are teaching.I had an english teacher who had a degree in physical education caused me to score low on the FCAT.I learned nothing in that class. Also their are many student problems including fights. |
| 2/1/2011 | teacher | Leadership lacks integrity and responsiveness. Being a former staff member, I was appalled at the number of unethical incidents that occurred. Poor teachers that cheated student grades were promoted while good teachers that generally cared and worked hard were fired. Completely disorganized, I worked there for 3 months before they could even get my office phone to work. So, basically, I was a teacher without a phone. No wonder parents can't get a hold of anyone. I also learned the principal is a former Band director with NO teaching experience. |
| 10/19/2010 | parent | Teachers are unresponsive to messages and emails. Office staff are difficult, at best, to locate. Two months of trying to schedule a conference finally resulted in the counselor and I in a room waiting for THREE teachers who never showed up and the principal, Mrs Murray, did not respond. The vice principal excused the teachers absence saying they are busy, have too many students, and have not learned the email system yet. In Donald Trump's words---you're fired! I realize this is a public school but this is intolerable. |
| 6/8/2010 | student | The leadership at this school lacks oversight and responsibility. Communication is nearly non existent. Many of the emails listed are incorrect and are not checked. Phone calls are not returned and assistance if very hard to find. New leadership is desperately needed. |
| 5/10/2010 | teacher | Unfortunately, the last review is very accurate. As a former teacher at Palmetto Ridge, I witnessed first hand inept teachers with little interest in their students. There are some very good teachers there, but they are outnumbered. One teacher was found guilty of intentionally changing a student's grade from A to F for no one reason. This teacher should have been released, but remains today. Unethical practices, poor leadership and a general lack of responsiveness are common. |
| 3/9/2010 | parent | Many years spent in Collier schools allowed us to compare the county's schools. Though I was warned of the problems with the school, we felt it was up to the student and parental team to succeed. However, lost academic transcripts, unresponsive instructors as well as very poor leadership, are difficult to locate (call and get no answer or show up and try to find someone working)--this is on multiple occasions and little response, if any, from much of the staff (we are not in the band program). This is a failing school as their poor performance and lack of interest in it's students proves. Incoming students should prepare to govern themselves with outside educational influences from other institutions or research the alternatives in the county. |
| 11/19/2008 | student | This school is awesome. The band director accepts no less than perfect and makes sure that all band students keep their grades up and are respectful to others. The other teachers share the same philosphy. If grades start slipping, they will make meetings to help. The students here are kind, respectful and very involved in the activities. |
| 10/7/2008 | parent | This is school is great. I've had experience with this school for four years now and not one complaint. The teachers know what they are doing and the students have excellent behavior. The school is very good in getting involved with the community between selling christmas trees yearly, a vareity of sporting events, and our annual estates family fair. I recommend this school to any family looking to move in the area! |
| 3/27/2008 | student | I think that it is a great school and I enjoy going there and learning about different things everyday. The teachers there really do their work at palmetto ridge high school |
| 12/7/2007 | student | I like how close the school is to all of the kids that live out here and i like how many activities are established |
| 2/12/2007 | parent | Child is a junior in lots of A.P. classes-this school is more challenging than Lely high. He actually has real homework now! |
| 6/6/2006 | parent | 2 children there now great sports program. We did not the distance from our house to the school as other schools were closer but this is the zone we are in. |
| 5/11/2006 | former student | I think that the school is ok, a little hard but ok |
