But i feel my kids left a big part of their heart in Oldsmar Elem...My son even begged to stay with his boyscout group from Oldsmar. The teachers were great & Mr Scmitt is an excellent, excellent principal! |
| 1/7/2008 | parent | Our girls 8 and 11 are doing very well at Oldsmar Elementary. Their teachers are excellent and really care about them. They are very responsive to me whenever concerns arise academically. Mr. Schmitt is an excellent Principal, very approachable and always pleasant. I am always greeted with a smile by Mr. Schmitt. It will be a sad day when he retires. He will be very hard to replace. The school has a very 'small town' feel to it. It's the only school around that I know of that has such special events as Muffins with Mom, Grandparents Breakfast, Donuts with Dad, and Dads Campout. Its a very family oriented school. In fact the parent involvement at Oldsmar is so great that field trips are sometimes too full for all to go. I'll be sad when my youngest graduates in two years and leaves Oldsmar Elementary. | 8/1/2007 | teacher | This school has a wonderful, caring staff that demonstrates a love of children and their profession.The leadership of the principal , Mr. Schmitt, is evident in the team he has assembled and his love of kid's can be seen in his unique unicycle club. The excellant art and music program offers opportunities for students to show off their talent within the school and community. I love the sense of community at this school. All of the staff seem to want to help each child to be the best they can be. It has a very warm feeling. The parents are active here also both in learning and social activities. There is a Dad's club that has an annual camp out at the school and there are mentoring opportunities and workshops for parents and students. A great child/family oriented school. |

Our teacher is extremely professional and very tuned-in to our child's needs and academic success. My child's classmates are wonderful, respectful and kind. The campus is clean and well managed. All of the staff are friendly and helpful and everything from lunch to car circle is managed well and very organized. The art and music programs have really made an impression on my child with a hands on curriculum and lots of activity. There is not a doubt in either of our minds that every adult our child comes in contact with during the school day loves their career and enjoys children. It puts us at ease to know that such a wonderful school is right here in Pinellas County. |

On a couple occasions I felt they were making excuses for there employee rather then accepting constructive criticism.... |
| 2/17/2006 | parent | Academic programs are lacking in my view because limited view of the program directors. Most have lived in this area their entire life. It's a good ol' 'boys' club. They spend more time on getting the 'ribbons' from the state on parental envolvement (A rated school) then consentrating on specific needs of the children in their care. |
| 8/3/2005 | parent | Love this school! Mr. Schmidt is an excellent Principle and seems to have put together a great team at Oldsmar. Mrs. Keller kindergarten teacher is awesome! Mrs. Purvis 3rd Grade teacher has experience and brought the best out of our son. Coach Harvey is an excellent role model and the kids love him! There are too many to name, but this is a great school. Family envolvement is extremely high. In Florida, it is sometimes difficult to get that 'small town feel' but Oldsmar Elementary has made it happen! |

Her situation is difficult being in a divorce situation living with a mother who should show more interest in the child. I presently live in Florida and see child every other week when she visits father who also lives in Florida. |
