| 10/30/2012 | parent | Absolutely love this school, wish I would have started her in 1st grade....However, she started last year for 3rd grade....academics are at the top, teachers are exceptional.....My daughter loves school more than ever now..the school is filled with activities etc....any concerns the principal is ALWAYS available....my daughter has always excelled in her academics, but this school really challenges your child to his/her full potential...excellent school, teachers and adminstrator!!!!! |
| 5/29/2012 | parent | My daughter has been at CML for 2 years now. I reluctantly took her out of private school after relocating to the state of FL. I am so pleased that CML was the choice!! Excellent and caring staff, rigorous curriculum and well-deserved recognition is just some of the raving reviews that I would like to give the school. My daughters private school compares well to CML I am blessed to have found such a diamond in the MDCPS system. |
| 4/19/2012 | parent | Coming from a private school, this was the best school I could have selected for my children. The faculty, staff and administration are knowledgeable, and always accessible. The curriculum is outstanding. Most of CML's students are placed in advanced courses in middle school, and are able to take AP and Dual courses in high school. An outstanding school and unforgettable experience! |
| 4/18/2012 | teacher | I am working at CML for 9 years. The teachers are excellent and outstanding who really care, great leadership and a quality eduction. This is an A school for many years, thanks to our teachers, students and staff members. This school is a blessing in our community, it is comparable with a private school. Xiomara Martinez |
| 9/15/2011 | other | I attended CML in the early 90's and I can attest to the schools greatness. I have since graduated from the University of Florida and I credit the discipline instilled in me at such a young age by teachers, such as Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Brown, Mr. Nu ez, and Mrs. Sweeny, helped me tremendously. Good luck with the new school Dr. Castaigne and thank you so much for the memories. CML was truly a blessing! |
| 8/30/2011 | parent | This school is a blessing in our community. Our son was attending Beacon Hill Prepatory School from Pre-K to 1st grade. We enrolled him in our local Public school for 2nd grade. Unfortunately, the curriculum was too easy for our son, and he wasn't being challanged. We were fortunate to transfer our son to CML. Not only was our son being challenged, but he loved his teacher and classmates. We pray we can enroll our daughter in a couple years when she reaches 1st Grade. I pray our principal Dr. Castaigne will remain with us for another 30 years. |
| 6/23/2011 | parent | Great School! Love it!!! I have compared notes with parents of a private school where my daughter used to go and the education my kids are getting at CML is much, much higher. Everyone in the school is very nice and friendly, the principal and staff members, and the teachers are exceptional! Thank you CML I'm looking forward to my daughters second and fourth grades ! |
| 10/8/2010 | parent | Both my kids got fantastic educations at CML |
| 4/15/2010 | parent | i love this school the principal and teacher are great . |
| 4/14/2010 | parent | This school is so big because of the principal, teachers and personel. My daughter is on 3 grade and loves this school very much. The program is incredibel and they overcome every obstacle they encounter with little money and lots of love. Helps the kids to grow academicaly and as persons, They are teh best!!!! An it is a public school!!!! They deserve it specially now that they are struggling with building problems!!! |
| 1/26/2010 | parent | I must say that this is my daughter first year at this school and she is a gifted student. At the beginning, I was kind of skeptical about putting my daughter in this school because they didnt have a gifted class for my child. But, Ms. D'Amour is an exceptional teacher because she really goes all out to teacher her students and my daughter learns so much. I used to have to create her own curriculum at home because the other Dade County School (Kindergarten) she was going to was not challenging her to her fullest potential. I am grateful for this school and I pray that one day Dade County build them a stand alone school because they deserve it. Keep up the great work CML. |
| 12/15/2009 | parent | This school is tremendous. The teachers are talented, dediated and creative. They are quality educators who really care about the children and it shows. The level of professionalism and commitment from everyone at the school (and I mean everyone) makes CML truly special. The curriculum is rigorous and the education, well-rounded. And while the building itself may is not the newest or most beautiful (shame on the district for not moving faster to give this school the facelift it deserves), the outstanding work going on INSIDE each classroom is truly impressive. |
| 12/7/2009 | parent | This is a great school - outstanding teachers who really care, great leadership, and a quality education. I am particularly impressed with their anti-bullying curriculum, their gifted teachers, and their first grade teachers. Ms. D'Amour, the lead teacher, is exceptional. |
| 11/15/2009 | parent | My daughter attended CML school for 3 years, then I moved her to a brand new school 'top of the cream' as someone told me. I just had to go that office school once to realize the mistake I had done!! I should have kept my child at the real top of the cream school!!! |
| 10/4/2009 | parent | Our teachers and staff do such an amazing job at making our school the best and they deserve as much recognition as possible! |
| 7/1/2009 | parent | My daughter has just completed her first year at cml and boy! Great school, great staff, great experience. |
| 3/11/2009 | parent | CML, the BEST. I have a special needs child and the staff, teachers and administrators are all aware of her circumstances and thoughtful to help her through the day. They are absolutely at the top of their game from the janitor to the principal. I tried another school, it was brand new to the area but learned it is not the facility that makes a great school it is the leadership. and CML has it ..hands down. |
| 3/10/2009 | parent | Love it. This school is the best kept secret in Miami Dade, FL. Great Principal, Faculty and staff. Makes me want to shout for joy. My son has been there from 1st grade - he is now in his 3rd year. I only wish the school went past 5th grade. |
| 12/5/2008 | parent | Awesome school, both my daughter and son attented this school and both have excelled to higher levels. The teachers are very dedicated and take the time to make sure the kids learn the material. Being a Magnet and offering gifted classes sets this Elementary schhol apart from the rest in Miami. The neighborhood is not the most appealing one but the school makes up for it. The principle, Dr. Castaigne has to be the greatest asset the school has, she's awesome. I highly recommend this school to any parent and student. |
| 2/10/2008 | student | I was a student of North Dade Center For Modern languages last year and the school is extremely organized and all the teachers there are good well teaching teachers that teach you with respect. The decipline in that school is very strict. The school also has a lot of parent involvement and all the students there are all well behaved and would treat anyone well. I would really like to go back to that school I would not mind. |
| 2/10/2008 | student | I attended CML last year and all other five years and it was great. The teachers there like Mrs.Medina are great and so are all the other teacher and the principal Dr.Castaign. |
| 12/18/2007 | student | CML is an excellent school. I attended the school for all 5 years and the teachers are very nice and hardworking. CML encourages teacher to parent communication and is very friendly. Even though there were many students, our principal puts attention to each and every one of us. CMl is very multicultural and I enjoyed learning Spanish and having the yearly event where students get to bring food from their culture. It is a wonderful and friendly school that I reccomend to everyone. |
| 9/2/2007 | parent | I am very happy with the school, the staff is wonderful, my daugther has learned a lot, iI wish we have more schools like these in dade county |
| 3/12/2007 | parent | I was so excited when my twins were accepted to this school and for good reason. The teachers and administration are very responsive. They set high expectations for the children and give the parents and students the support and resources to reach it. This year, my daughter was admitted to gifted. If her teachers were not paying attention, it may never have occurred to anyone to have her tested. But when a teacher cares they notice and opportunities open up for your child. I have absolutely no complaints or worries about my children at this school. When we have had issues (behavioral and lackadaisical performance), immediately there is a sit-down with the parent, teacher, administration (and even child psychologist if warranted) to hash out a joint plan of action. That kind of responsiveness has not existed at any of the other schools my children attended. We love CML! |
| 3/8/2007 | parent | If you are looking for a great school, you've found it. All of my children have attended CML. One went through the French program and two are in the Dual Spanish program which is recognized by the Spanish government as part of their own educational system. The foreign language teachers are outstanding! While the magnet focus is foreign languages, CML builds a very well rounded child. The school's FCAT scores are great. The school's Science FCAT scores last year were number one for all of Miami-Dade County Public Schools. The teachers, staff, and principal are the best! I highly recommend this school! |
| 1/25/2007 | parent | Your child will be successful with the basic foundation. However, I selected this school for my children because of the foreign language program. This is difficult to accomplish and creates problems in the years that the children get the bad language teachers. My advise is to learn from the mistakes of parents like me and select a school with 'international studies' classification if you truly want your child to learn a language. |
| 3/28/2006 | parent | CML offers the opportunity for young children to learn either French or Spanish along with an advanced curriculum. Also, 'gifted' students are in a full time program. CML has a very active PTA. My oldest child is now attending Duke and is fully trilingual! It's a great school with great teachers and a wonderful principal. I strongly recommend this school for any child who is a highly motivated learner. CML helped prepare my child for a bright future! |
