| 10/31/2011 | parent | Absolutely ridiculously rude. Teachers and office staff. I am not the biological mother, I am the step mother. My husband works where he can not have his phone. I called to make an appointment for my husband to come in a talk to teacher, the lady who answered phone said in a rude tone when I told her who I was "I cant talk to you, I need to talk to the father" I told her that the father had called there at 8am this morning and left a message, no one has returned call. 3 times in last 2 weeks the bus has arrived over an hour late in the afternoon and we have missed out on prepaid classes. You send the teacher asking a couple of questions, so that when we questioned him about the F on a homework assignment we would already know whether it was 1) he didn't bother completing assignment 2)he didn't bother handing in at all or 3) he just had the wrong answers. We question this so we know if its a problem with him not doing work, or if he needs a tudor. He gets punished for not doing his end, but if its honestly something he doesn't grasp, the we would like to get him help. However teachers don't bother answering all the questions, which is not helping us help him. |
| 8/24/2011 | parent | My daughter is a Senior here. She loves this school. She has been going here since she was a Freshman. She is also very involved. If you want to make friends & get involved there is a club for everyone. The teachers care (for the most part) School is what you put into it. Any issue I've needed to address has been handled sufficiently & effectlvely. Very happy! |
| 8/14/2011 | parent | I have been very pleased with PBC, my child went to another school in the county prior to and the focus was on many other things in that school but academics was not one of them. The kids ran the school, here the kids have teachers who actually try to teach and prepare them for the next phase. (FYI for those that complain about the school being expensive its the same everywhere) |
| 3/24/2011 | parent | I agree with a Previous post. The school is more interested in tracking attendance and tardies (3 seconds after bell rings) is considered late..which lands the student a detention. The school has 3000 students, all navigating at once, with stops to lockers between classes in addition to the morning drop off line. More focus on that then teaching. My child has been slammed with detentions..btw no bus after detentions. My child is always stressed out about this. Today I was told by school that they had a full house at the Saturday detention. Unreal. |
| 3/9/2011 | other | I was a student here for 4 years and graduated in 2009. This school has good teachers...about 7 of them. The office staff is so beyond RUDE, they made me cry 3 separate times...and I have never had ANY behavior problems. It doesnt doesn't matter if you are alumni, a parent, a student, or a soon-to-be student...they treat you horribly. It is built like a prison (I know this because I sat next to one of the architects on a plane from Tampa, who told me they designed it like a prison). I had good teachers, I only have to use one hand to count them. There is a serious lack of trust in the students from ALL staff. I am glad I am out of there. Was I prepared for college? Yes, but that is only because I was in all honors and AP classes. Best of luck to all who will or are going to PBCHS. |
| 8/11/2010 | student | This school is huge, disorganized, and the kids are mostly under the influence, and mouth off to the teachers. It's also messy and the school actually is accepting the bad behavior of so many teens like littering cussing and more... The teachers don't even teach u much at all, and most of the staff are just down right rude... Avoid going to this school! |
| 4/15/2010 | parent | this is a GREAT school.I encourge all parents to let there children go there |
| 12/5/2009 | parent | it was the most horrific experience my daughter could have had. The kids can come and go as they please. there are more drugs inside the school than out, personal belongings were stolen what a shame!!!! |
| 11/18/2009 | parent | seems like every time I turn around I am paying for something whether its a gym locker, a lock, gym uniform, insurance, yearbook, biology materials, art materials, etc. Where are our taxes going to? Have to pay to get in to see any sport. Why can you not purchase a season pass for all sports and why do students have to pay the same a s adults? There are no buses provided for the atheletics program. Where does all this money collected go to? Are all high schools in the county run like this? |
| 3/23/2009 | student | palm beach central is a great school i went there all 4 years of high school and i loved it theres no much activities to get involved with , great school spirit , great teachers ,awesome atmosphere , and everyone is friendly . Its defintely one of the best schools in palm beach county |
| 2/15/2009 | student | this school is overpopulated and expensive |
| 2/14/2009 | student | As an alumni, I have come to appreciate the positive environment of the school. Every day is like a partay, and the teachers are top notch, indeed. cool beans man. |
| 5/9/2008 | student | PBCHS is the place to be, with fun activities and caring teachers. Your child will always find this School the most enjoyable school that he or she has ever been at. The activities give you something to learn with Joy and you can always count on the teachers to take you in as one of the family. There is a club for almost everything and once approved by the Principal of PBCHS, you can open your own club, whatever it may be. You can find the most educated teachers to help you with free tutoring and they care about you as though you were their own child. Palm Beach Central is like a big family, we take in students and make sure they get on the right track to make the right choices. Palm Beach central is the place to be! |
| 3/15/2008 | parent | My Daughter Gina just started attending PBC and she said its one of the best highschools she's been to. she makes A's and B's there and before she was making C's and B's. I love Pbc. |
| 4/26/2007 | parent | Palm Beach Central has proved to be a very good high school. My son is a 9th grader and has had a great first year experience. The teachers, administration, staff and parents at the school did not disappoint. They are always available and get back to you right away. There are lots of excellent clubs, great sports and school spirit. My son is in jazz band with good, smart kids and an excellent, committed teacher. For a typical huge Florida school this has to be one of the best. I am very involved in my kids school and education. If you want your kids to succeed that's how it has to be. FLorida has a limited number of good schools. This is one of them. |
| 7/18/2006 | parent | Palm Beach Central is a great school. I am very satisfied and my child loves it. I recommend this school for any parent. The teachers are dedicated only to the students education and to make sure they succeed. I love it. |
| 5/23/2006 | parent | A pretty good school. Many very dedicated and professional teachers. |
| 5/18/2006 | parent | Palm Beach Central High School has been given a bad reputation. The faculty and staff of the third year school are all dedicated to improving student's futures. They have worked hard to make the Bronco name stand for excellence in all areas, academia, athletics, community services, and citizenship. The teachers believe in the old fashion ideal that a school should not only prepare a student for post secondary education but also teach them what it means to be part of a society as a whole. The students emerge with an understanding that they are prepared to contribute to society in a variety of ways. Parents and students should be proud to be connected to this type od dedication and spirit. |
| 5/12/2006 | student | central is hands down one of the top high schools in plam beach county. great academics, great sports, great atmoshpere. teacher/student relationships are excellent and all administrators are very visible throughout the day. |
| 12/30/2005 | student | Palm Beach Central has a very positive atmosphere. Most of the students are really friendly, and willing to make new friends easily. The administration is very strict on their students, but still it's a very nice atmosphere. The teachers are great, and very involved with pep-rallys (which are awesome!), extra curicular activities, dances, student government. It is a new school though, so alot of students want to 'put down' the school...not true. It's a great school. |
| 10/26/2005 | parent | School more interested in tracking attendance than what the kids were doing in class, some of the teachers my child had didn't appear to be interested in teaching. On a positive note, this is the 3rd year this school has been open and it is supposed to be getting better but I've moved my child to a private school. |
| 9/5/2005 | student | Palm beach central is a great school. |
| 8/4/2005 | former student | Palm beach central was a great experience I learned how to get along with different people around the area. I love palm beach central. |
| 7/25/2005 | parent | the program seems very nice n the school is clean.they offer great programs. |
| 6/16/2005 | parent | This was a good school. My child attended the school for one year. There was a great sports presence and my son had the opportunity to play on a team. I do feel that some of the teachers he had were less involved then I would have liked, but all-in-all, it is a good school. |
| 4/27/2005 | parent | This school offeres Culinary Arts (Cooking), Information Technology, Engineering much more I do not know of (I think)... But I know those I listed for SURE. This school has a C right now, yes, it could use improvment on it. Overall this school is great, new, big. The quality of these programs are good... |
| 4/23/2005 | student | I always hear from people who don't attend this school, how PBCHS is not a good school and all that. As a student there for 2 years, I strongly disagree. It is a great school. All my teachers have been great. They always listen and teach from their hearts! There are a lot of cool activities that go on that any student can attend, and most of them are very fun. Our football team may not be the best in state but we have other great sports teams! our softball is awesome! Dont listen to waht the newspaper or people who dont really go to PBCHS. Ask someone who attends the school. They will all tell you how great it is. |
| 4/14/2005 | parent | PBC is a great school run in an amazing way. Their math and social studies programs are tops. The leadership is outstanding, it's a reflection of the community, and the education is 2nd to none! |
| 9/28/2004 | student | I'm in 10th grade and its great. Most teachers are great and they talk and deal with your child to get the best possible grade a child deserves. Though I do not agree with the principles tardy policy. Its a brand new school and were hopefully going to grow into a Great school soon. There are lots of extracurricular activities. |
