10/15/2012parentWe're new to not only the school but the state. This school is unorganized, most of the faculty acts like they are just there to for the paycheck and does not seem to want to explain ANYTHING to the parents. I am there 2 times every day and have only seen the principle around once. The first day the Vice Principle was more worried with texting than actually helping people. Whenever I have asked question either to a teacher or the office staff they give me a look that can mean either "it's none of my business or I'm stupid for asking". If I could find a private school close and could afford my kids would be out of here in a heartbeat.
9/16/2009parentThey are awesome from the front office staff to the classroom. My child flourished while was there. Thank you Winter Springs Elementary
3/27/2008othermy grandson is in kindergarten at winter springs elementary it is a great school and he has had a very positive year. What a great way to start his school years. Everything is so very positive about this learning environment that a child is motivated to learn and love the learning process. Thanks to all the staff for such a great year and a special thanks to Mrs. Dorn for her fantastic interaction with the children she is probably one of the best teacher's I have ever known. My mother taught school for over 30 years so I really realize how fortunate we are that my precious grandson is attending this school.
7/7/2005parentGreat School with a great reading program. Treats children as individuals.
11/18/2004parentI beleive that the school system could do better in educating our kids. If out kid can't complete the basice then were will we be.
8/26/2003parentWinter Springs Elementary has provided three of our children with an excellent elementary education. Their reading program, Success For All (SFA), has proven to be more comprehensive and challenging than the Accelerated Reader (AR) program used by previous schools our children attended. The staff, both teachers and administration, has always been helpful and quick to return a phone call or note. The small class size, group activities, motivated teachers and positive guidance allow for individual personal and academic growth. We've been especially pleased with the progress of our daughter with a learning disability. Her teachers and guidance counselor made themselves constantly available for questions or conferences, provided thorough testing, plenty of individual attention and consistently upgraded her AIP in order to keep her challenged. After graduation, she is now enrolled in regular course work in middle school.
