8/21/2012parent1st review 1st week into the school year 2012-2013 This school came highly recommended by 2 DeKalb county teachers, family and friends who had their children attend Path in the past. Since the last school s review on this website was so long ago, I don t want parents to be discourage by that (like I almost was) and think that this school is not worth checking out. I will try to write one more review in the next 5 months and 1 more after school ends to share our experience and overall results. One thing I can say for sure now is, I m very impress of the organization skill they teach the children. Also, every single morning the children are reminded that they must go to college (something I haven t seen in the other 2 great schools my daughter attended) and the motivational speech they receive every day, I m sure will pay off. Overall the 1st week has been great, they challenge the children to the max, but they give them lots of help and attention. For now i give the school an average (3starts), we'll see what happends on my next reviews.
6/29/2010 Good student/teacher ratio, but more involvement with the community needed. Very strong on the math area and has multiple programs established with Georgia Tech
4/29/2010parentWe are Grandparents who raise two middle school Granddaughters beginning when they were in the 5th and 6th grades. The tragedy caused a difficult transition for the girls, but Mr.and Mrs. Cox and all the staff there at Path were so kind, encouraging and nurtured both girls as if they were part of their school family. The girls grades improved from low grades to now B or better and their confidence rose to have hope for a better future and an education that will bring them success on their career path in life, Part of the reason is because of excellent teachers and encouraging staff and the over all atmosphere of the school. We are so thankful and that season of the girls life will be etched on the table of our hearts and their hearts always as a special memory. Thank you Path Academy teachers and staff and students for making your school the very best!! Grandmother Emily
6/5/2009studentWell..what can I say? This is a great school. Many of the kids here go to private high schools that students from other schools don't even dream of going. The education here is also very good. The kids are set into classes with kids of their same learning pace, so that no student gets left behind. Parents, don't believe what other people say, come see for yourself that PATH really is a great school. If you really want your kids to perservere in life, then enroll them in PATH. Perserverance, Acomplishment, Triumph, Honor.
5/6/2009teacherI love this school. The teachers work hard, the students are kind, the staff and administration want what is best for the kids. We expect a lot from our students behaviorally and academically, but it really pays off. Our students are well prepared for high school when they leave us.
4/22/2009studentThis school is the best school there is! People who think this school is a joke are wrong because they are not the ones going there. PATH provides us students with the excellent education there possibly is. Our school is so diverse.Unlike many public middle schools, students here at PATH can be themselves without feeling discriminated because of who they are. PATH has a top-notch education. PATH opens up a students mind about the world and themselves. The teachers are not teachers but family. They become a huge influence on our life. There are limited activities since it is a small school but students can become a part of PATH instantly. I am an 8th grader here at PATH for 2008-2009 school year and because of PATH, I have gotten into one of the best private schools in GA with a full scholarship! I am going to miss this school so much!
4/12/2009parentis excellent school i think that is good for kids and educational
10/11/2008studentThe teachers here are caring and exelent as a student I agree that sometimes the work gets a little to over board but high scholl will seem like a pice of cake with extra frosting. We have one ofthe most lovable principals at our school they are stict but fair judt how it should be.
6/29/2008studentI think you all are wrong i go to this school and I think it is great. Ive learned a lot since I've been here.
5/15/2008parentthis school lacks communication with students. they seem to misinterprate the students and judge them. The teaching skills are good but i feel thatit lacks leadership skils and trustwothiness.
4/15/2008parentalthough we are no longer at the school. I do see the benefits that my child has gained from PATH. Yes the school did lack prpper leadership and the structure that we are customed to in corp america. However, I have seen same system that also lack the same leadership. I was able to step back and place emphasis on the goal; Test scores, reading, math learning etc. in this area the school is rated 10
3/27/2008parentThe 'leadership' at this school is a joke! The principal lacks communication/people skills. My daughter's social studies teacher 'left' on 03/14/2008 and we parents have yet to receive any information regarding this matter! They ignore parents requests for meetings & pick on individual children at will. They had great teachers for the 2007-2008 year, but they left for reason unknown and have been replaced with young & unexperienced teachers.
5/30/2007parentThe school has a good mission nad does teach on a college prep level. However, they lack the proper leadership and teachers who really care about minority children. Teachers don't show proper respect for the parents, so you can imagine the level of respect they provide to the students. Overall I rate the school a 3 on a scale of 1-5
4/2/2007teacherThe teachers are well prepared and genuinely care about the students. Due to the small size of the school, not many extracurricular activities are offered. But, students are taught structure and knowledge and are well prepared for the future.
2/20/2007parentThis school is a waste of time. Great idea, but falls far short of the expectations. not a safe environment for children
