| 1/12/2011 | parent | My child is currently attending this school. They have great teachers but unfortunately they don't have time to really teach with all the testing and assessments that go on. Their numbers are great because the students spend most of their time learning to do well on all the testing they have to take. As a result, you have children that can test well but they're not really learning. The Principal is very caring but I think she doesn't have a choice but to follow what's going on in the county..... testing, assessments, benchmarks, mock test etc...... |
| 1/23/2009 | parent | My child did very well in this school. The teachers go above and beyond with their students and truly care about helping them do their best. |
| 3/21/2008 | parent | I agree that the current principal isn't concerned with what patents think. This school hasn't been the same since Dr. Dowling left. I've submitted several suggestions about how to improve situations at the school and was dismissed with a rude return e-mail. We've had 3 letters sent home this year saying that someone in school was diagnosed with MRSA. When I sent a suggestion on ensuring that children wash their hands prior to lunch, I was told they do wash their hands. My son confirmed that they do not. When a teacher pulled my car door open and told my child to stand in 30 degree weather to wait for school to open, I sent an e-mail and she dismissed my concern. I haven't been impressed with her ability to run this school. |
| 1/30/2008 | parent | I think that this school could do better. The principal isn't concerned with what the parent thinks nor does she keep her word. As far as the teachers I have 2 chilldren they attend Honey creek. Out of 6 diffrent teachers we have only been lucky enough to find two good ones. Who can teach and love their students and are willing to go that extra mile to help them leran. |
| 6/7/2004 | staff | Honey Creek has a wonderful new music teacher (Meredith Jones). Their elementary theatrical performances rival those of many secondary schools. The children are learning to sing and play relatively complicated music for their age and really seem to enjoy themselves. Most parents surely would cherish seeing their children participate in such entertaining, character building, and educational activities. Teachers like Ms. Jones really contribute a lot to the already great daily and extra-curricular activities at Honey Creek and make it a pleasure for parents to get involved. |
| 11/24/2003 | parent | This school went above and beyond the call of duty when my daughter attended. Her teacher was very 'in tune' to each student under her wing. It was always fun and interesting...schools in Columbus, GA could learn from Honey Creek! |
